There's enough in Land's past that has turned me off from them. From face to face interactions with him PERSONALLY at the national rendezvous, I'll never spend another cent with them. You do what you want, no one is forcing you to do anything. There's just nothing about BHA that interests me, and I spend my money with organizations that actually do tangible things with said money. Land learned well from his dad and the rest of the MT dems. Besides your dismissal of the "founder" bit, the rest is easily verifiable from different sources. I bet if you asked them without looking it up, 95% of BHA members would tell you that Land founded it, and not Mike Beagle.

The founder bit is just enough for me to question the whole source that's all, the guy claims to be an "insider" and have all this knowledge and yet he uses false information twice to try to prove a point. If he's so knowledgable about BHA and how it works, shouldn't that be a big red flag?

You threw this "source" out as somewhere to go to get credible info on how bad Busse is, yet the "source" is blatantly wrong or purposefully spreading wrong info from the very beginning and you still tout the legitimacy....that's all I'm saying.

Anyone have a pitch fork I can borrow?

I beleive a lot of us have made our thoughts for or against BHA known. But look at it this way, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR PUBLIC ACCESS? You don't need to give your hard earned $ to any organization to do what you and a couple of buddies can do. Start on a small scale first. If your having trouble accessing public from private, the first step is to ask, nicely. Get to know your local game wardens. Get to know your Forest Service head rangers. Go to your county commisioners. A couple more local votes or phone calls goes a long way. But I have found the best approach is to always talk to them politely and professionally. And if any of you all want to have a beer with me, I drink cans of beer, not pints!!!
A line in the sand over beer is the most insane thing I've seen on these forums.
It makes me wonder, if you go over to a guy's house and he asks you if you would like a beer, are you triggered by the type of beer he brings you? If I had friends that looked down their noses over the brand beer I handed them, I would certainly lose some respect for them.

They bring me a white claw we will then be discussing the nuance of why we can’t be friends . Haha

If someone asks you if you want a beer and bring you a White Claw I'm pretty sure you're justified to react anyway you see fit. I bet a judge would even be merciful on you.

I never touted legitimacy of anything. I said "here's an interesting read". Not my fault you think that what I linked is 100% factual, I never said it was. It's obvious we have different opinions on BHA, and that's fine. There's just way too many red flags for me to ever consider them as an organization that aligns with my views.

I’ve been a member for about 5+ years or so, seemed like a decent organization and values. I’ve been to a bunch of pint nights and made a couple friends from the group. I’ve volunteered and currently serve on a “habitat watch” committee.

During the Trump admin, BHA delved in to politics like i’ve never seen. They targeted Trump’s picks incessantly with negative articles and what I considered personal attacks. Biden has picked the new USDA chief and he is the old USDA chief that served under the Obama/Biden administration. This guy and his policies are largely responsible for the mismanagement of our western forests and loss of access and habitat for hunting.

BHA is “all-in” for this guy and it bugs the heck out of me. Never once do I remember them offering anything positive on Trump’s people. I think I am now truly done with the org and will never give another penny or let them use my membership for political clout.

BHA has always been the Sierra Club in drag. When they first came on the scene I went to their website and looked. I immediately recognized the wording and site style from the Sierra Club. Then looked at the leadership. 100% greenie .org. Everyone who joined are just useful idiots.

White Claw: MAYBE we found SOMETHING we all agree on?

If that’s the case I propose the immediate formation of a 3rd Party. Democrats and Republican United for No Claws, or DRUNC for short. The Dos Equis guy can be our first nominee and who the hell could compete with his resume.

Yeah I know what you're suggesting.

When you don't have many options, it ain't bad. Hell even when I drank beer I hated pbr.

Several guys at the archery club have become converts. I think the get brownie points now, on the way home they get a few "for the wife".

I can't speak to all the accusations in those links.

I can definitely address one.

The piece by the American Lands Council stated that BHA was spreading misinformation that the transfer of federal lands to state ownership could result in those lands being sold off.

I wouldn't call that misinformation. I live in Oregon. There have been several serious efforts in the past decade to sell off state forest lands with good hunting because they "weren't profitable." Look into the effort to stop the sale of the Elliot State Forest. There haven't been any major pushes to sell federal lands.

A quick google search regarding the people behind the "American Lands Council" had this pop up.

If this is who people are supposed to send their money to instead of BHA, I hope like hell they're doing their research. This whole organization is dedicated to the the transfer of federal lands to the states.

Ken Ivory (the founder) literally sponsored an act called the "Transfer of Public Lands Act" in 2012.

If BHA really isn't what they seem, at least they're subtle. This stuff is Busch league.
