Real black. It's the only answer
One of my muzzle loader clients used BH 209 this year and i couldn't believe how little it smoked, normally with other powders i can't see chit looking over their shoulder .....there is no substitute for bh209
It's available intermittently at a few different suppliers. graf's, powder valley, Buffaloarmsco, powderinc, travelers antiques, there's a couple other not very well known online shops too but can't remember their names. Ordering a decent quantity from powderinc is probably about as cheap as anywhere else online. I don't think they're the cheapest but that's who I ordered from this yearWhere are you finding that?
Must not have shot any swiss before. Any record shooters using t7?Real black doesn’t really compare to 777 unless you just like lots of smoke, fouling and lower velocity.
Here are some average muzzle velocities out of a .50 with a 300 grain bullet and 100 gr by volume charge of powder:
Black powder 2F 1601 fps
Triple Seven 2F 1746 fps
Triple Seven 3F 1819 fps
BH209 1904 fps
