I thought the Maven B3 8x30 and Leica Trinovid 8x32 were impressive, except for the short eye relief with my glasses. Sent them back.
I've been pleased with my Opticron Traverler 8x32 BGA ED, except for bothersome glare when looking toward the sun. Still, they're keepers.
The SFL 8x30 I picked up a few months ago is the perfect 8x compact (for me). A near match to the Traveler 8x32 in size, weight, FOV & eye relief, and no glare at all. Good fit & ergonomics for small hands. The image quality almost rivals my SF 10x42. Although the SFL has a smaller sweet spot than the SF, I don't "see" that it matters.
