Looking for a boresight, maybe non magnetic? Reason being is that some of my suppressor adapters are titanium and I really don’t want to fight the rocksett to get them off. Have new scopes for the rifles but don’t want to take the titanium adapters off. I have been looking at various arbor styles and like how they work but concerned about damage to the crown. Anyways, not looking to do a traditional boresight where one looks down the bore and sets the scope to similar target. I know that works for a lot of folks but prefer not to do that, it doesn’t work great for me. Thanks!

I set my rifles up on a bipod or bags "shim" the butt stock , pull the bolt and look down the barrel without touching the rifle.

Edit: Guilty of not reading to end of your post before replying. I'd still go for the look down the barrel set up. I do it in my basement and I hit paper at 100 every time.

Sounds like a boresight that works from the chamber is what you want.

Also, I don't mean to hijack thread, but has anyone else noticed they can be more accurate looking down the bore compared to an actual device?
The last one I set up centre punched the orange sticker first shot at 100 yards.

Couldn’t tell you - I’ve only ever bore sighted by pulling the bolt and looking down the barrel. Simple and works well.

I've got this thing if you're interested.

I've got one of those also, super useful, love it, but more so for checking out scopes than getting the gun dialed before the range. Throw that thing on there and watch the crosshairs while you crank the dials, you will know real fast if the scope is tracking straight, how much travel per click, if the click travel is the same throughout the range (it's very common for scopes to not travel as far per click when you get near the edge of the adjustment range), you can do box checks and all that stuff without ever firing a shot.

It probably depends on the range I guess, but for getting on paper, mine has a dirt berm at 100. I will generally just mount the scope, aim at a blade of grass or something on the berm, send one, observe where it hit vs what I was aiming at, and dial accordingly. Takes only one shot to get on paper, one more to reference distance from zero for a second adjustment, and with shot #3, I'm starting the 1st group. After the first serious group, usually move a small number of clicks to final zero, and done.

I have a pole with an insulator about 150 yards out that I can see and setup on out my shop door. Been the go to for years for bore sighting.

I thought that’s what freshly painted gongs were for. I can’t remember the last time I bore sighted something.
