ban on video taping hunts on public ground

i heard a discussion about putting a ban on or charging a fee for folks that video there hunts for profit. im curious on peoples thoughts.
i know that they( folks that make these videos) can put un welcomed pressure/attention on some areas. i wouldnt be very happy if this happened where i hunt.

i personally think its not a bad idea. can we bring back the simplicity of the outdoors? i do think that it should at least they have to pay, and cant video in any wilderness areas. maybe keep them restricted to private only? pretty sure no want wants there area to get blown up....

I’m sure it differs by state but my understanding is there’s already a pricy permit process for filming on federal land unless it’s just personal use. Probably a case of not enough personnel to enforce it

Federal public land agencies require permitting by fee for filming on federal public lands. The various agencies are going to start cracking down on hunt filmers, who prior to now, were in violation of federal law, but hadn't been prosecuted. The feds plan to crack down on violators who've been flaunting the law.

I really have a problem with commercialization of a hobby. Gang hunting of waterfowl is particularly offensive to me. I think the most I have ever watched on these shows is about three minutes.

Heck I think video recording and taking pictures has gotten out of control EVERYWHERE. Restaurants, town squares, football games, the woods, and the list goes on.

this would be a good idea. although i do enjoy watching certain channels, if guys couldn't film their hunts for profit there'd be less incentive to film which would trickle down to less popularity which would trickle down to less point creep. maybe.

An all out prohibition for commercial use would be nice.

Some lands approach that. I believe that's why Steve Rinella said his MT elk hunt wasn't filmed. The one on that sliver of land bordering YNP.

If they can go after someone who say shoots a buck out of a parked sxs couple years back, they can surely track down and prosecute someone if there is a landmark visible.

Also, far as i know, they need to get a permit for filming.

Folks need to just follow the rules instead of thinking up new ones and further restricting our abilities to do what we want when we go.

I get to deal with this locally. Whiners whine and they change the regulations and we get less freedoms. Why? Cause that’s what regulatory agencies do. They never question the whiners, they just add new rules to appease those who only whine and are never happy. Chit circle.

Be very careful when inviting new gov regs. It's a double edge sword. It might not be you this time but eventually it will be you. Next step could be no hunting on public lands. We are already seeing some user groups band from public land use in WA.
Freedom is a valuable thing to just toss away because we don't like what someone else does.
