They never did, they said vaccination slows virus spread(true, when done aggressively) not that it stops transmission.

Yes they did.
Fauci Quote
"But what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission." CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, On CNN from this last week.
The obvious implication there that they thought they did at one time.
And how does that not just obliterate the OSHA mandate argument? They say they need the federal mandate to protect workers from transmitting the virus in the workplace. The vaccines don't do that by their own admission now. So what would be the point? Piss a bunch of people off and set a rather dangerous precedent?
And look, I don't blame them for the ever changing conditions with the virus. Omicron is way different than the original Alpha variant that the vaccines were designed for. They just needed to be honest about it.
But what sends me over the edge is when they still push flawed fear porn garbage like this:
CDC Study of Increased risk of diabetes in kids infected with Covid
Media then pushes the story:
NY Times Article (just one of hundreds of articles)
Every main paper and news outlet in the country ran with it. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what they are doing there: Scare people into vaccinating their kids.
Never mind that its a garbage study.
CDC Pushes Flawed Study on Kids, COVID-19, and Diabetes
Follow the science right?
How are we supposed to when they push questionable studies like this one?
The only thing I can't figure out now is if they are evil, just incompetent or both because this is inexcusable.
Look at the sports stadiums, look at downtown areas in red states. Most people are done with this.
Drop the mandates.
Let people get vaxed/wear masks if they want to.
Keep developing early treatments and new/better vax. (and vet them properly)
Monitor new variants as they come up. And act accordingly.
And lets all get on with our lives.
