Because people today, armed with all of the knowledge in human history at their fingertips, still don't know how vaccines work.

Which definition of vaccine are you going with? The one that all of humanity has been using since they were first created...or the new one they came up with last year so that this one could legally be called a vaccine?

They never did, they said vaccination slows virus spread(true, when done aggressively) not that it stops transmission.

Yes they did.
Fauci Quote

"But what they can't do anymore is prevent transmission." CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, On CNN from this last week.
The obvious implication there that they thought they did at one time.

And how does that not just obliterate the OSHA mandate argument? They say they need the federal mandate to protect workers from transmitting the virus in the workplace. The vaccines don't do that by their own admission now. So what would be the point? Piss a bunch of people off and set a rather dangerous precedent?

And look, I don't blame them for the ever changing conditions with the virus. Omicron is way different than the original Alpha variant that the vaccines were designed for. They just needed to be honest about it.

But what sends me over the edge is when they still push flawed fear porn garbage like this:
CDC Study of Increased risk of diabetes in kids infected with Covid
Media then pushes the story: NY Times Article (just one of hundreds of articles)
Every main paper and news outlet in the country ran with it. Doesn't take a genius to figure out what they are doing there: Scare people into vaccinating their kids.

Never mind that its a garbage study.
CDC Pushes Flawed Study on Kids, COVID-19, and Diabetes
Follow the science right?
How are we supposed to when they push questionable studies like this one?
The only thing I can't figure out now is if they are evil, just incompetent or both because this is inexcusable.

Look at the sports stadiums, look at downtown areas in red states. Most people are done with this.
Drop the mandates.
Let people get vaxed/wear masks if they want to.
Keep developing early treatments and new/better vax. (and vet them properly)
Monitor new variants as they come up. And act accordingly.
And lets all get on with our lives.

The Phase 3 trial is designed as a 1:1 vaccine candidate to placebo, randomized, observer-blinded study to obtain safety, immune response, and efficacy data needed for regulatory review. The trial’s primary endpoints are prevention of COVID-19 in those who have not been infected by SARS-CoV-2 prior to immunization, and prevention of COVID-19 regardless of whether participants have previously been infected by SARS-CoV-2. Secondary endpoints include prevention of severe COVID-19 in those groups. The study also will explore prevention of infection by SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

A total of 43,548 participants underwent randomization, of whom 43,448 received injections: 21,720 with BNT162b2 and 21,728 with placebo. There were 8 cases of Covid-19 with onset at least 7 days after the second dose among participants assigned to receive BNT162b2 and 162 cases among those assigned to placebo; BNT162b2 was 95% effective in preventing Covid-19 (95% credible interval, 90.3 to 97.6).

The company stated primary objective and what they also were looking at. The results from the study that got them the EUA.

You do realize this article supports getting the vaccine?

You do realize this article supports getting the vaccine?

If you’re worried about becoming severely ill. It also contradicts what a few on here are saying that the vaccine causes less of a viral load and the unvaccinated are the ones spreading.

Every article published supports getting the vaccine. You have articles all over saying how it appears that the vaccine is not preventing people from contracting Omicron. They then go on to say how important it is to get your vaccine to help fight Omicron. It is ridiculous.

Every article about vaccines, masks, mandates, etc etc etc etc has a yeah but.

Like I said, call a spade a spade. Quit with the BS. You need a vaccine to prevent severe disease. This is why you get a vaccine. This is the only reason you get the vaccine. Use risk assessment in regards to age, exposure level, and comorbidities to come up with sensible vaccine recommendations. Quit lying to everyone, quit with the yeah buts, quit with the shaming of everyone, quit with the fear mongering and use some sense.

I could tell from the headline that it did. There were way too many words and I really don't care.

I just thought that was funny.

Wow this has gone off the rails. The original questions was "What is your company doing to comply with the OSHA requirement?" (took liberty with the question). From a company perspective, if the SC doesn't throw out the requirement, it's going to be extremely challenging. If a company doesn't follow the guidelines they can face fines of $14K or $17K per individual (can't remember the exact amount) if your company has over 100 employees. Requirements are either show proof of vaccination or test weekly. Challenge is how to administer the tests. With the recent Omicron surge, testing is largely unavailable. Another consideration is who's going to pay for the testing? It is unrealistic to expect an employee to sit in a medical facility testing line weekly to get tested and wait for the results and "at home" tests are not readily available at this time. I'm hoping the SC sees reason and throws out this ridiculous mandate. I do know that I don't want OSHA crawling up our a** to prove compliance. It's a no win situation from a company perspective.

Here is a question for all the scientists:

How EXACTLY do you prove someone with the vaccine has a less serious version of the virus?

I know hundreds if not thousands of people personally that have had the virus and all the alleged “variants”. EVERY one of them had had a different experience…from sniffles to death.

HTF do you say any one of them would have had a different experience shot or not. Can’t. Impossible.

Also for all the “scientists”; nobody has explained to me why hard earned natural immunity counts for nothing for the first time in human history. Why is that???

Because that doesn't require people to OBEY and fall in line with their orders. There's no "control" of the people if they allow natural immunity to suffice. That's the real logical answer, there is no scientific answer........but I think you already knew all that. ;)

And it's driving them absolutely bat-crazy that so many people aren't falling in line. (y) They thought fear would be an adequate motivator to control the people........it was, for a lot of folks. So much so, that they're still terrified that the unvaccinated are causing all these deaths...........as they've been told to believe.

Then you have people like my neighbors who all got it for a second time during Christmas. They will never take a vaccine. They’ve got Covid fatigue in a way that I think will be settling on a hell of a lot of people after omicron proves the vax was less effective at stopping spread than they thought.

I'm not sure what you're referencing. What other times in history has "natural immunity" counted, what did it count for, and in what ways are you not seeing it "counted" today that should change, and how?

Feb 2020 I got a sore throat, a cough that lasted 4 months, and was throwing up after my wife and daughter got sick too. Have no idea if that was Covid or not, but my lungs weren't good the rest of 2020.......hauling my moose out just about killed me.

Fast forward to Dec 2020 my wife got a cough and then I got the cough as well. She got tested for work and tested positive. Then our daughters got it, and a week later we all lost our taste and smell. July 2021, my daughter came back from camp coughing, two days later I was coughing. Then most every kid that also went to camp tested positive, along with a bunch of parents. So I assumed it was Covid.

December 2021 my smell and taste finally came back 100% after a full year of mostly nothing. Then Dec 31st while in AZ I had a sore throat and was completely exhausted. New Year's day my lungs felt like crap, the next morning.......fever. Had the fever for four days and mostly flu type symptoms........but my taste and smell went 100% away again. And my wife got sick as well. So because of the loss of taste and smell again, I assumed Covid. I started getting a few smells and tastes back yesterday. Yay.

Regardless.......these last two years has been more sickness than I've ever experienced in my lifetime combined. It's been ridiculous. And two of our daughters that came home for Christmas came home with sickness as well (untested). But in the grand scheme of things......it's just been a nuisance and we continue to press on with our daily lives. I'm sure we'll get it again at some point, and we'll continue on as if it was the flu.

My last day of work was 10-29-2021 company I worked for said all employees had to be fully vaccinated by Nov 1st. Told us that all medical exemptions would be looked at by their attorneys!! Because everyone knows attorneys know more about your personal health than your primary care physician. My boss said just to fill out a religious exemption but I told him I’m not a liar and I need to be able to sleep at night. The hilarious thing about my situation is that I worked at a Union Carpenters vocational training center and we averaged 110 different young men and women a week in our building. No one else was required to be vaccinated (which no one should be) except our staff. WTF thanks Biden

I'll preface that I work in IT, no requirement to ever be in person. Company required us to disclose our vaccination status but no requirements to be vaccinated to stay employed. However they have made it a requirement to exclude the non vaccinated from in person meetings and functions. The company is pushing hard to move back to in person so I'm counting the days until I get a the talk about my status and inability to meet my job requirements because I cannot attend.

If that isn't the route they go for forcing folks to get it or get out, they will more than likely go after the insurance plans and excluding non vaccinated calling it a pre-existing condition. As the sole provider for a family of 5 not having a job or insurance is not an option.

Well, when they had the smallpox vaccine mandate you either had to be vaccinated or have smallpox scars. Either was acceptable. Natural immunity counted.

After they Supreme Court allowed people's rights to be violated with mandatory vaccines it opened the door for the government to mandate medical procedures. They started sterilizing women who had what they deemed too low of an I.Q. People should think about that before supporting this nonsense.

COVID doesn't leave a scar though, so what should substitute?
