Trump or DeSantis are our only hope, I believe.

I’ve always been with majority here, and as much as I love both of these two I personally don’t feel it’s an answer.

“We” tend to place trust in a candidate to do the right things and stop the crap. The opposition has been for decades chipping away at every institution infiltrating and indoctrinating students as an eternal process for permanent change. Many are grown now. Certainly more an urban trend not rural.

I too get so angry with this, and it’s in full swing here in Michigan too, but but half or so of the population supports this… or at least is supporting candidates who are executing according to a grand scheme and they don’t care or know as long as something else they want is given.

No, the problem is our neighbors. And how to enlighten them.

I sell holsters at gun shows over many years now. Meet all kinds. The last 4-5 years have been very interesting in that majority of buyers at these venues are touted as liberal democrats. My conversations support this. When I feel the rapport is good as I listen to their worries about lost rights, I remind them that they are voting for this with their choices. In every case, a reply that goes - no it’s not joe it’s the government. A third party type reference…. There simply is no recognition of what or who.

I’m willing to lose a sale to stand on my principles and give honest non confrontational advice and honest challenge to their beliefs. I do other part time consulting and sales, I won’t hesitate at all to express candor if someone walks into this topic in the workplace.

Never been called on it.

I see liberals all day long express all kinds of crap in the work places, but never the other way around. We’re too conditioned to stand down. And by who

Here on rokslide it’s mostly like minded folks crying together. But it’s not influencing. I say - get out there, get in somebody’s face…. Lol.

Not criticizing anybody here, but 100,000 WKRs sprinkled around the country at the company cooler squaring ignorance away with savvy and grace would be a force.

Yep, the way we win this is in the courts. States may be able to tie cases up in courts for years, but in the end supreme court and federal court cases are going our way and these laws are slowly being struck as unconstitutional. Judge Benitez is wrecking shop in CA right now. But CA will just turn around and and do something stupid like banning the lead in bullets altogether.

This is a good response.

I would offer there is a lack of self-accountability in their choices as well, as illustrated by the “it’s Joe” comment.

How do you foster the development of self-accountability in people?

This country is supposed to be 60% Christian. Should not ever be an abortion or gun rights issue ever. But there are because folks are confused. They sway in the wind based on what "sounds good" at the time.

450 million guns, 30,000 gun deaths annually, most are from suicides. The guns aren't the issue.

There are plenty of people who see the craziness. The trick is to get them to vote. In a few states, only 1% change will change who has control. Extreme ballot harvesting on one side, and nothing from the other has got us where we are in many states.

Of course, we need to continue to clean up voting rules to ensure there are only legal votes, and people can't vote in multiple states, but that will take longer.

Man that last question, is the question above all else in these times.

I don’t have an answer. If I look at society our law leaders are not in any way forcing accountability for overt crimes.

I’m not a vigilante, so in my efforts it’s about exposing, challenging and perspective with those that disagree.

If there’s an answer without preemptive force from non law folks I’m all ears.

I’d like to think many I’ve chatted with have been influenced, internally but I doubt they will vote accordingly until it’s as common a discussion as say “rights” type stuff.

I’m all ears, but as much as I want “A” leader this is a systemic underground scheme well conceived decades ago and a temporary leader only halts it while in power.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I fear this will stick. It has in other states and a federal judge in Illinois just ruled that protecting the people from these guns was more important than our rights. I don't know how the hell a federal judge could do that but she did. And for every hundred thousand we throw at this in lawsuits, Dimslee and side show Bob will throw a hundred million at it just to save face to their constituents and say neener-neener to law abiding gun owners. This state is doomed.

The train has left the station, so the saying goes. I don't know if it can be recalled. I fear not. One law at a time, and the 2nd amendment is doomed.

Just now read, Federal judge has granted injunction temporarily blocking enforcement of Illinois gun law. This has to do with semiautomatic weapons as well as high-capacity magazines. Now it will head to upper courts.

GSP, yes, maybe some sanity coming to bear:

"As Americans, we have every reason to celebrate our rights and freedoms, especially on Independence Day. Can the senseless crimes of a relative few be so despicable to justify the infringement of the constitutional rights of law-abiding individuals in hopes that such crimes will then abate or, at least, not be as horrific?" McGlynn wrote. "The simple answer at this stage in the proceedings is 'likely no.'"
