I have both and I used to have the Argali Owyhee. I hunt the southern mtns with hopes of going west one day.
I started in a copper spur. I liked that it was light and free standing. It was so nice 2 falls ago when it was pouring rain. I wanted something lighter so I went to the Owyhee.
I ran Owyhee last year. When I hunted last fall, it was cold for the south and it was actually dry. I ran it without the insert. I found the vestibule just wasn’t big enough for my crap in the winter. I wanted to have room to cook too.
I sold the Owyhee and bought the Rincon with a full nest to take someone else like one of my kids. Then I bought the half nest. I’m going to run the half nest by myself this fall. I should have bought it first instead of the Owyhee. It has the room to sleep, cover my crap, and cook. I also get the stove option for later.
I do think the Rincon with the half nest is going to work well. I like that the vestibule is next to your nest door instead of split on either side like the Owyhee.
I do want to keep my copper spur just in case I need a freestanding option. It also has the option of running just the bug net when it’s summertime hot and Dry.
