Who out here has used these on a tikka? Good experience? Bad? Want to move away from a pic base on this one and the Leupold reviews seem to make me believe they may be a bit tougher than Talleys?

For those using them with a 40mm scope, will Lows work or should I stick with mediums if I go that route (Scope will be a Zeiss 3-9x40)

I have both tally’s and Leopold lightweight versions.
My non-scientific opinion is unless you plan to beat the heck out of your rifle, they are functionally equivalent. If you are going to beat it up, Leupolds are a little more robust build quality.
Some forum (not this one) say the Tally lightweights have cracked on them. May want to review that. I have no data to back up anything I just wrote. All I want to do is pull the trigger.

I like the tally’s as they had a 20MOA option, and there’s an optional bubble level built into the rear ring which is kinda spiffy.

Since you are unsure, I suggest you use the webform on Leopold website and pose your questions there. After a few days, I got great info on recommended height and they identified some options I had not considered. Like you I don’t want a pic rail messing up the nice lines on my rifle.

Part of my desire for the leupolds is this is going on a classic, wood stocked rifle. The leupolds look a lot "cleaner" than the talleys.

Not a rifle that will get beaten up by any means
