Thinking I could always chop an inch off the butt, re shape the pads / extensions, and then lengthen as he grows. Would prefer not to chop it up though. Having parts on hand for present delivery a different deal, though. No real risk.If you are going to use the factory Tikka stock, this is considered by many on this forum to be a default addition. Myself included
The change in trigger reach/thickness isn't drastic imo, but it does create a more comfortable grip angle for some. Depending on kid's hand size, I would think it could definitely help (especially if not using a "thumb over" / wrap around grip technique). If not, it would be an easy sell to someone else.
