AR = Everything

Use is general farm/ranch gophers, coyotes, Home Defense, hunting, etc…really want to try it as a 1-gun solution for a spring-fall cycle and evaluate from there. I got a hold of a bunch of 77TMK’s and load developing now.
A fellow rokslider posted about a convo with SWFA earlier this month. Sounds like a gen2 1-6 is in the works.

For a 1 gun solution, that would be pretty trick.

1. 1-8 LPVO vs Credo 2-10x36

2. What Suppressor (I would like something shorter that I could use on a 6.5 too if possible)
1. 16" barrel pairs really well with a 3-9/2-10/2-12.5/2.5-15x and an offset or 12 o'clock mounted red dot.

2. Suppressors are an entire world of give and take/compromises. Personally, I like low backpressure suppressors for general purpose/training. Shooting at things with ears or eyes I'd probably go with a traditional can 9/10 times. If you're carrying it a bunch, and not shooting it for long strings of fire, titanium would be nice. If you're shooting it a bunch and not carrying it so much that weight savings aren't a huge concern then Stainless steel or Inconel are perfectly fine.

Fun fact: flow-through and low backpressure are not the same thing. Flow-through is low backpressure but not all low backpressure are flow-through.

I have been looking at Huxwrx and US (I understand they are very different) and would like something that works on other guns. But I am open to suggestions.

.30cal can would be a good idea to keep your options open. I have a huxwrx 762ti, Allen Engineering AEM4-65, Silencerco Velos LBP 556, Rex MG7k, and a .22 can. Feel free to ask away.

The hux 762ti is pretty quiet to the shooter, but pretty loud to everyone/thing that is not the shooter. Especially with surfaces for the sound to bounce off of. Mirage can get bad fairly quickly as well, but that's titanium. Also cools off faster.

AEM4-65 is heavy but that sumbitch is the most quiet rifle suppressor that I own by a long shot.

This thread has been awesome and you have all been super helpful. I have a 16” DD that has just been waiting around for a purpose.

I am going to “try” a few things starting with spring hunting. I figure I can go to an SBR after I see what I like/dislike 2 more questions:

I have been intrigued by a 1-8 lpvo lately. Got to look through a 1-8 credo ffp. I have a hard time seeing where I would miss the 9 or 10x and could probably get all the range I wanted with the 8

I doubt you’d miss the extra magnification very often. One of my ARs wears a 1-8 ffp and I never feel handicapped because of the magnification range. My more hunting specific AR wears a 2.5-20 ffp and it rarely gets dialed above 7x-8x.
