Alone on History Channel?

Is anybody else watching this show?! Wow, cannot believe how unprepared and not smart some of these ppl are. Im not saying i could win it but I definitely could last longer than a day or two. I know its easy to criticize from the couch and the comfort of my own home but come on.

I have followed it from the start last year. Kind of an interesting concept and I'd give it a go for 500 grand.
This year they seemed to have picked a lot better candidates with more survival skills. I think one guy last year lasted one night.

Yeah I watched last year too. I like the show. Great concept. No fake drama crap like most of the shows. First dude dropped in about 8 hours.

Watched it last night for the first time. Seems like a show I could get into.

Sure is starting out just like last year, drop the black guy off in the heavy bear area and he taps out quick. Not to judge but I was surprised they let a 275lb lady do it maybe she'll surprise us all and win it.

I'm still trying to figure out if she is a lady or not........... Not that there is anything wrong with that but I was surprised at that choice also.
I'm not sure whiny larry is going to go to long. I kind of think that the scout/sniper should do fairly well.

I thought we were gonna get to see Larry fall on that axe a few times when he was trying to climb the hill looking for a camp site. I forgot it was coming on and caught it right before it went off but was able to see it on demand. I have it set to record the season now.

Is the 275lb "lady" a lady or a transgender type. Im leaning toward the latter. seems like they give them a lot of gear to survive with... But I agree these folks are not that experienced. I think the "lady" could win it too. The hotshot chick should... do well but doesn't seem like she knows what shes doing. My hotshot buddys are damn good in the woods and would crush this show.

Yeah my wife and I had a small argument over what she really is, lol. That is horrible I know but we chalked it up to the SNL skit Its just Pat. I mean my wife even pointed out her name (Tracy) can go either way. She does seem tough mentally so may go far.

Larry really made some bad first day choices, doubt he lasts. Seems like half the group forget to film themselves as we really only got to see half of them it felt like.

I think a lot of ppl on the show have the skills to physically survive. Thats the "easy" part. I use term relatively speaking. The mental part seened to be the kicker last year. Larry made some bad choices already. Hes too far away from his food source. Climbing that hill everyday is gonna burn precious calories.

And maybe im stupid for not being scared of black bears. Don't get me wrong i know they can be dangerous in certain situations but some of these people make it sound like there are black bears stalking them every step just waiting to attack.

I dont think they forgot to film. I think they are filling time with ppl that are going to drop out first. Figure they have several weeks of tv time for the ones that they didn't show. Girl who got wet wont last long. Between being soaked and having a baby at home, no way. And why bring down bag to vancuver island?!

I watched from the beginning of last season. Most of these people have the survival/bushcraft skills to survive. Really, it's the mental aspect that pushes most of them out. I'd love to give it a go.

Man, you and I think alike. Thought immediately of the skit on SNL of Pat. And of course, "Tracy" could be either. In any case, it is entertainment and I actually enjoy the show. I also agree with the mental aspect of it---that would be the hard part. I have run many 100 mile ultramarathons and it all boils down to the mental issue. If you have a strong mind and strong will, I think that anyone who is in fairly decent shape can complete one and it is on par with Alone.
