Just getting into sub gauges, been looking around quite a bit. What is your favorite sub-gauge gun make, model, and caliber? Chasing all sorts of birds pheasant, quail, chukar, and huns.

Currently, I shoot an original Benelli SBE & Berette 686 onyx both in 12-gauge

Bird season cannot come soon enough!

20ga Browning gold(Belgium made), me and that gun just get along! I have used a 20ga or .410 for upland and doves my whole life!

I think a 20ga is ideal. Beretta and Browning make a solid shot gun. The Rizzini O/U seem like nice guns.

The 20 gauge is my favorite of the sub-gauges. I continue my search for the ideal double CZ's bobwhite was pretty close but I kept picking my 870 over it so when a friend asked I sold it to him.
If you shoot your 686 well and an o/u appeals I'd start my search there on the used market. If a semi appeals Benelli has a variety of options. Myself, I have a hard time resisting a classic pump action. If I stumble across a model 12 or ithaca 37 when I have the jingle in my pocket I suspect it will follow me home.

Not a stacked fan personally. So for me a benelli ultralite in 20 or a beretta a400 upland in 28 or 20. Probably the a400 just because I prefer gas over inertia, especially in sub guage territory.
