Alaska brown bear season 2026….updated as season progresses!

Two archery hunters in the field. Both arrowed brown bears last night. One was recovered. Winds are to bad to fly out and help look for the other one, rain all night and part of the day, bugs so bad the guys can’t hardly hold their eyes open in the brush isn’t helping the conditions any.

First bear recovered is a 8’ bear, 35 yards. The client has shot one brown and 5 other black bears with his rubber blunt as well the day before. Chasing bears off the bait and for practice on the stalks and shot placement. Finally putting the blades on and executing his brownie!

I can only imagine the hunters relief when your son found it.
This was this hunter’s third trip after a brown bear too! Never had a shot on the peninsula two seperate times. First night gets the shot and then can’t find the bear??? Uhg man he was on an emotional rollercoaster for sure!!

I just wanted to put out there that anyone considering hunting with Jake you should do it. I have been on guided hunts all over the country Jake is tied for 1st as my favorite outfitters ever. Honest guy who puts the work in for his clients. This was my first brown bear hunt and first time in Alaska. I was successful on day 6. I will be back to hunt with jake again as soon as I can afford it. If any one had any questions feel free to reach out.

I'm glad the second bow hunter got his bear I know the feeling.

I second this!!! I had an amazing trip last year and am going back in 2028 on a Moose/Brown Bear hunt with Jake. Can't wait!!

Thanks guys for the kind words!! I will be getting those kickback checks in the mail for you now as promised!! Haha!
You both were a pleasure to share Alaska with! You make my job a whole lot easier with good attitudes and patience with bears/weather and logistics !
Looking forward to your moose hunt !!

An archery black bear from this week as well. Went home in a cooler as a meat bear! Was awesome to see someone after that meat. It’s all my family uses for burger is black bear. Great stuff.

Black Bear meat is great. The outfitter did not conceal his disappointment when I took mine after my last hunt.

How close are most guys sitting to your bait piles? Are they in elevated blinds or a blind on the ground? Don’t have any photos showing the setups the hunters are in?

Trade secrets!!! Lol

I don’t show a lot of other photos because of the internet being everyone’s “research” tool now days. It has ruined more than one fishing hole because of to many scenery pics of a place.
My set up however is a ground blind. Typically about a hundred yards off a bait. We set up a plan and concealment and stalk the bait when a bear comes in. This keeps our scent out of the bait area (no tree stands) and enables us to be comfortable, talk, move around, watch movies and drink endless coffee, bathroom breaks without disturbing anything.
Every archery shot has been 35 yards or so. Every archery client has shot at/hit a bear.

Same style bait hunting we did in Tok. Put bait out on the side of a mountain and a mile to the south was a ridge with a nice clear view of the bait. See a bear, stalk is on.
Got some, missed some. Part of the fun.
