Alaska brown bear season 2026….updated as season progresses!

Two archery hunters in the field. Both arrowed brown bears last night. One was recovered. Winds are to bad to fly out and help look for the other one, rain all night and part of the day, bugs so bad the guys can’t hardly hold their eyes open in the brush isn’t helping the conditions any.

First bear recovered is a 8’ bear, 35 yards. The client has shot one brown and 5 other black bears with his rubber blunt as well the day before. Chasing bears off the bait and for practice on the stalks and shot placement. Finally putting the blades on and executing his brownie!

I can only imagine the hunters relief when your son found it.
This was this hunter’s third trip after a brown bear too! Never had a shot on the peninsula two seperate times. First night gets the shot and then can’t find the bear??? Uhg man he was on an emotional rollercoaster for sure!!

I just wanted to put out there that anyone considering hunting with Jake you should do it. I have been on guided hunts all over the country Jake is tied for 1st as my favorite outfitters ever. Honest guy who puts the work in for his clients. This was my first brown bear hunt and first time in Alaska. I was successful on day 6. I will be back to hunt with jake again as soon as I can afford it. If any one had any questions feel free to reach out.

I'm glad the second bow hunter got his bear I know the feeling.
