Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission at March 4, 5 meeting to vote on Center for Biological Diversity petition to eliminate sales of fur statewide. Basically a repeat of the failed voter referendum in Denver during the November 2024 election.

Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management is trying to rally Colorado sportsmen and women to defeat this petition. Email the commission and/or attend the commission meeting in-person if able. Sign up to provide in person of virtual comment against the fur ban petition.

I saw HOWL, RMEF, BHA, and RMBS all have action alerts out to members. Maybe more. Spread the word.

Traveling for work this week and unfortunately could not attend.. Anyone here make the meeting, and if so, how did things appear to go?

Fortunately, the Wyoming Constitution, Article 1, Section 39 states that hunting, fishing, and trapping is a heritage that, “shall forever be preserved.”

So, if you want to ban trapping in Wyoming, you can’t start with a petition or ballot initiative. You have to start by repealing a constitutional amendment that received about 84% support.

May you be unsuccessful in that endeavor.

RMBS = Rocky Mountain Baby Sitters? Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep? Never seen this abbreviation before.

Nvm looked it up "Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society"

Never underestimate these scum though! The people who push this stuff forward pay people to do it as their full time job. At the same time the vast majority of us have lives unlike the payed minions doing the footwork for the scum.

Don't rest too secure in that belief.

"We are not banning trapping. We are just requiring trappers to take a
200 hour course on ethical trapping methods and the purchase of a
$5000 yearly permit."

Re: CPW meeting

Please report back on how many Colorado wildlife biologists
speak up at the meeting (who are not members of the Commission)

Thanks.. first thing I hear when I open the link is a woman who can barely speak English explaining why we apparently need to continue eroding Colorados way of life.. unreal

Jacober just called them all out on their BS. Everyone keeps saying “follow the science.” Well the CPW staff is sitting right in front of them telling them the science does not support a ban or bag limits, and that stooge Tutchton keeps arguing for some arbitrary bag limit based on “social science.” Complete joke.

The commission is just flat out compromised. Despite CPW staff saying that the trapping does not affect populations, and that there is no scientific support for the ban or bag limits, it still gets pushed through 6-4. Absolutely unbelievable.

Listening to them try to figure out what they are even trying to motion and the confusion is painful. Beaulieu motioned to approve but when questioned what her motion was she didn't know other than she approved "the spirt of the petition".

They claim to be science based and then ram this shit through based on “the spirit” and “the social science.” It’s absolute horseshit.

It was pretty obvious Beaulieu was just trying to push it through to the next stage caveating there will be exceptions rather than it just flat out get voted down today.

Correct. The stacked deck commission is starting to do damage. They stopped the voting at 6-4, they didn't ask Sichko since it wouldn't have changed the outcome but would have been nice to know for record.
