Rally the troops! Are you upset with the CPW Commission overriding the CPW biologists and the will of the people? Are you concerned the Commission has been hijacked by out of state anti-hunting activists orgs?

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission will convene at May 6,7 meeting to continue rulemaking on the Center for Biological Diversity petition to eliminate sales of fur statewide. Basically a repeat of the failed voter referendum in Denver during the November 2024 election. Meeting agenda will be published soon.

Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management is trying to rally Colorado sportsmen and women to defeat this petition. Email the commission and/or attend the commission meeting in-person if able. Sign up to provide in person of virtual comment against the fur ban petition.

Additionally, CRWM will be hosting an event the evening of May 6 for the sportsmen and women who come out for the commission meeting. Info below. We are planning to have all the Roksliders in attendance get together at this “Circle the Wagons” event. Robby Denning also has some other “perks” for the Roksliders in who come out. Stay tuned! See you there!

@robby denning

Thanks Grant for stepping up.

Hey everybody, @Ryan Avery and I paid the thousand dollars for the speaking opportunity/support CRWM for Grant at that Rondy posted above. Come on out and help him rally the troops.

We’re hoping to get as many people there as we can and that they’ll also be able to attend the commission meeting. (That time has not been announced yet, watch this thread for it).

We’ve also got some extra entries in the Cold Bow challenge for guys that attend the Rondy or the commission meeting, and/or shoot the @CO Backcountry Precision archery range in Gypsum between Thurs 5/7-Sun 5/10. They are waiving the range fees for any Rokslider and have steep discounts on their cabins/ or free camping for anyone traveling through. (See post #39 here or just DM @CO Backcountry Precision )

I’ll be there to support him and the cause for both the Rondy and the meeting and then I’m gonna shoot the archery course probably Thursday or Friday depending on when the meeting actually lands.

Oh that’s great Sam. So glad you’re gonna make the trip over. You’re on! And I like expensive lunches!

Depending on demand for the cabins, I might grab us one for Thursday night. Just gonna see how many Roksliders want it before we take it though.

You and I might have to do the Motel 6. Imagine the rumors! 😂

This should tell you everything you need to know:
(Yes, I'm on the email list because I find it fascinating how stories are spun so differently)

Colorado's wolf recovery is only as strong as the people overseeing it. Right now, the Colorado Senate is preparing to vote on two exceptional nominees for the Parks and Wildlife Commission — Dr. John Emerick, a veteran environmental biologist, and Dr. Chris Sichko, an economist specializing in wildlife and land use. These are exactly the kind of science-driven leaders our wolves, our ecosystems, and our working landscapes need at the table.

Take two minutes to make your voice heard: use our action tool below to send a letter directly to your Colorado senator urging them to vote "yes" to confirm Dr. Emerick and Dr. Sichko. Every message counts — let's show the Senate that Coloradans demand science-based stewardship of our wildlife.

Oh yeah. Colorado Sierra Club and Center for Biological Diversity are both putting out alerts to their members to email Colorado senators and support Emerick and Sichko.

What isn’t getting much coverage is that both Emerick and Sichko both publicly supported and campaigned for Ballot Proposition 127, the failed attempt to ban mountain lion hunting in Colorado.

Hey Roksliders. Commission meeting’s next week!

We paid for a Guest Speaker spot at this for @bayoublaster7527 to help rally the troops. Hope you can come out and support him the & cause!

Also, because we’re using the Cold Bow Challenge (click here ) to help fight the blue-hair crowd in Colorado, we’re giving you an extra name in the hat if you show up at the Circle the Wagons event or either day of the Commission meetings!

@realunlucky and I will be around so say hi and we can make sure you get the extra point if you shoot the challenge. We’ll also be shooting the archery course at @CO Backcountry Precision in Gypsum. He’s waiving the course fees for any Rokslider who wants to shoot any day Th-Sun of meeting week. And you get an extra name in the hat for shooting the course those days.
