A neat way to thaw meat

Came across this method of thawing or defrosting meat without any electricity or water.

Place the meat on a skillet base and then place another skillet on top.

The cast iron transfers the cold away from the meat

This steak took just over an hour to thaw

Just slapping it on an inverted iron skillet works very well, too.

Adding the additional iron seems like it would speed things up but I've never tried it.

A thing to watch for. This will cause your iron to sweat or condense water and, if not cared for and dried well, will cause it to rust
