You are barking up a tree full of squirrels on your assumptions. Our first child will arrive in January. No jab for me or my wife and we will NOT be adhering to the childhood jab schedule. Nor will we be feeding processed foods or sugary drinks with dyes in them…

I can see arguments for both sides. All of my kids have had all of their childhood vaccines. I personally think that the reward out wieghs the risk. I will use my grandpa for an example. He would have given anything to have a polio vaccine in the mid 40's instead he spent his entire life crippled. Couldn't hardly find work from 1950-1980 as no one was interested in hiring someone with only 1 functioning arm and 1 leg that barely worked good enough to walk.

But will use my oldest son as the opposite example. He got a whooping cough vaccine 2yrs ago because his mom was pregnant and the Dr recommended it. He passed out from a reaction to the shot and went lights face first into a cement floor. Absolutely crushed his nose. Went thru absolute hell for the next several months and was just not be right. I was truly worried he would never be the same. It wore off after about 6 months. I have never seen a person so messed up from something in my life. Several trips to the ER with me carrying his limp/lifeless body in. And every Dr we went to said "it's normal, nothing to do with the vaccine". I am all for vaccines. I just wish that Dr's and vaccine makers were more honest about them and the possible side effects. But without acknowledging problems, no fixes to the issues the create will be looked for

Good on you man and congrats on your first child! Mighty Mouse said a lot of great points and if there's one thing I can add, it's that if you're going the hospital route - you might receive a lot of pushback! Go in with a plan for you, wife, and baby, and be your wife's spokesperson when she's having contractions and post delivery.. I've experienced several OBs and nurses be a little pushy when my wife was vulnerable and I had to speak up about not wanting that drug for my wife or baby, or give my wife a few more minutes of rest please, or please come back when the baby is awake...etc. Obviously, life or death I'd let the pros handle it. But, after 6 kids with 2 home births and 4 hospital births (all natural, no drugs), we found what works best for my wife and stick to it.

Check out this documentary with your wife if you have time: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0995061/

Not trying to go too TMI, but certain birthing positions that use gravity to their advantage can work. We've had OBs that were cool with it at least on the bed for cushion, and we've had others that were adamant to try and make my wife deliver on her back. Nope.

Man I'm happy to see this! Home births rock. My wife has delivered 2 and home and 4 in the hospital. Definitely felt some pushback in the hospital setting, though so long as mom and baby were OK, it was a good time.

Most likely will be hospital birth but all natural. I don’t deal with pushy and at the end of the day I’m her advocate. Being a former RN, I know what rights we have and will exercise each one of those.

DO NOT LET ANYONE make you feel bad about that decision. Had my first 3 years ago. She's been to the Dr. for health progress reports. ZERO vaccinations. Home birth, no vitamin K shot, whole healthy foods.

My daughters first "solid" food was a piece of pulled pork from a free range pig. She gummed that piece of meat for probably 2 hours. Gumming it broke it down enough for her to injest it without choking

My daughter is insanely healthy. Don't cave to peer pressure and all the "what-if's" that people will throw at you. Follow the guideline of asking health impact questions and practice good sanitation. Not wipe everything with clorox sanitation; just wash your hands thoroughly before eating, use soap, don't drink from unknown water sources kinda deal. Even then charcoal pills go a long way(for babies break them open and mix with maple syrup).

FIND a pediatrician NOW. Some pediatricians will not see a child if they have not had some or all their birthing vaccinations. You will need one at some point for something you can't handle and you don't want to be rushing to the ER for something the pediatrician could have told you. The ER cares even less about your desire to not have all the pricks and sticks they were taught to give in med school.

The hospital will be INSANELY pushy FYI. You will need to physically have yourself between the baby and nurses/doctors and make them explain what they are doing before they do it. You DO NOT need the vitamin K shot. Babies vitamin K will naturally kick in within a week

Great advice! Thanks.

Dont worry about peer pressure…. AINT GONNA HAPPEN! I’m the guy that persuades friends to go the natural route. The last 3.5 years has shown me and taught me A LOT! Dont get me wrong, I’m grateful for what I learned in nursing school. In fact, that’s what caused my spidy senses to go up when COVID started. It didn’t pass the smell test from the get go.

I’ve been done every rabbit hole thus far and have seen the other side. My decisions are made. My job as a dad is to provide for and protect my children at all cost. Period. End stop.

100% agree. Myself and my wife are the advocate for the child. I know all to well my right as a parent to refuse any treatment or medication.

Thankfully, my wife’s obgyn wears cowboy boots to the office with her scrubs tucked in the top. She reminds me more of female veterinarians I’ve met and worked around (was a vet technician in my early early years before college) than she does as a obgyn.

She has already asked about our birthing plan and has reassured us that we have free choice to what ever we want and it’s our choice. She even did her first two births at home all natural. I am choosing the hospital route only because there are complications during birth that can occur that require immediate medical intervention to save the life of the child or mother. Our obgyn informed us to stay at home for as long as possible and basically show up to push. She’s been very supportive thus far.

However, I won’t be complacent. My head will be on a swivel…. lol. I’ll need to pull my meds urge book out soon and brush up on pediatrics again. It’s been some years since then!

Ya because the peds clinics get paid for vaxed kids and that’s how they are funded. My wife’s a doc, anesthesiologist. Zero of our kids are vaxed nor will they be at such a young age. My 3 year old is super healthy. Whole Foods, outside a ton, limited tv. Tons of meat and fruits and veggies and no processed garbage.

Once a drug get on a the kiddo vaccine list it’s billons of dollars for that company and they can’t be touched when a child dies or has a reaction to the drug. It’s a broken system. Stand strong and do what y’all need and want to as parents, they are your babies and one else!

I’m 37. Childhood vaccines list when I was a kid was 21 shots, currently it’s up to 79. Its all about the money and has zero to do with the children’s health or wellbeing.

From talking to multiple peds docs that my wife works with and the doctors she’s around, big pharm runs the medical world.

The sicker the person the more money the medical industry makes in the long run. Get em hooked on daily doses of whatever prescribed meds and it’s constant money coming in from the patient and the insurance company.

If it was really about the kids the peds practices would openly take every unvaxed child instead of kicking them outta the practice. It’s a corrupt and dirty system imo.
