That seems like a huge increase. Are they simply just putting more powder in each round?
I haven’t pulled down either to see how many grains or what the powder looks like so I assume they’re just loaded hotter yeah

50 rounds on barrel
180 Hornady ELD-M: 2765fps
175 Hornady ELD-X: 2816fps

I'm seeing a lower velocity than expected and hoping it has a lot of room to break in. I also got an ES of 34 on the ELD-M's. We'll see how it pans out with more rounds down the barrel.

30 rounds eldm 2840 average last 5
25 rounds eldx 2877 average last 5

All Hornandy factory

They have spend up about 12 fps on these last 5
55 through the barrel now

Seems like these factory Hornady loads are slowing down a bit... I wonder with scattered reports of over pressure if they decided to back off a half a grain or so

How do you like that barrel?
I have the same barrel but in a 20" being built right now
It looks nice! Haha

Haven’t really had a chance to shoot a good group, I’m pretty sure my scope is pooched. The POI keeps wandering around the target without me touching anything.

Best I managed was a 0.681” group at 100yds with match ammo.

22” 8 twist benchmark

2886 average for the first 10 rounds out of this barrel. 175 Precision Hunter.

Rifle is stupid accurate with a low SD and ES so far. I’m not even going to bother reloading.

That’s the velocity I was hoping for. 🤞🏼 mine will continue to speed up.

No other factory ammo. Just a box and a half or two boxes of the 175 eldx total. Everything else has been reloads.

Round count is currently 108
I'm running the same 18" carbonsix, haven't started reloads yet. Do you mind sharing any recipes if you have a good one?

Tikka t3x with 22” Carbon6 Prefit. Headspace was perfect. Shot 11 rounds of 175 eldx precision hunters with a magneto sporter chronograph

Avg fps was 2795
ES 42
SD 13

With no time this year for my own load development I was hoping for more velocity out of the factory ammo but accuracy is plenty good. Here’s is the first 10 shots out of a brand new barrel after a bore sight. I expect this group will tighten in a few more rounds.

It sounds like Hornady has taken their foot off the gas with their more recent lots. That’s about 20fps faster than I was getting with my 18” barrel

Agreed. It's 75-100 FPS slower then I was getting out of my 22" this spring with an early lot. But some were slightly higher pressure.

Have roughly 120 rounds through my Seekins Element w 22" barrel. Last 2 session 180gr ELD-Ms averaged 2799 and 2772. Still surprised to see velocities that low, was hoping for at least 2850-2900 for these rounds....hoping that it is indeed Hornady's loads as discussed above.

Just got 6 boxes of 160gr CX in, and am planning to hunt with that in a month.

Just ordered a couple boxes of Federal loaded ELD-X to see if they do in fact shoot faster.

Went shooting Saturday and calibrated my drops at 865 yards and my first batch/lot # of 180 ELD-M calibrated to 2835 FPS out of a Ridgeline FFT 22" barrel. Chronograph averaged at 2840-2845 so pretty close.

Barrel has about 75-100 down range.

Has been shooting lights out for me.

I had some of the same Hornady 175 eldx from about a year ago and when I shot those they were almost 2900fps so Hornady definitely switched something up for sure…the factory Hornady 175 eldx out of my rifle was smacking a plate at 935 last Saturday repeatedly 8 times in a row once I figured out my holdover for wind drift…pretty consistent for factory ammo…only one shot of the 8 dropped out of a 7” group and hit about 7” low…I was running a chrono and that shot was much slower than the average fps.

30 rounds on the barrel
180 Hornady ELD-M: trued velocity estimated at 2755fps

AB predicted drop at 530 yards - 2.2 MILs
Actual drop at 530 yards - 2.7 MILs
Multiple good hits with 2.7 dialed at that range.

Slower than expected but seems like this is typical for people at the moment.

Felt a few bolt lifts that were heavier than others, but it's also a new gun, so could have been operator error.
