Is there a list somewhere that has the lot numbers that had issues? I just picked up two boxes of ELDM last week but been sitting on six boxes of ELDX. I have shot 30 rounds through my CA Ridgeline FFT without issue

Not to my knowledge and doesn’t seem like Hornady is willing to acknowledge they have an issue. Pretty disheartening.

Not a 7 PRC shooter but I find the velocities interesting. I own a 7 SAUM and am shooting the 180 Bergers at 2890fps because that was by far the most accurate load. I talked to Blaine at Unknown Munitions ( he does their load developments) and he confirmed that right around 2900fps in the SAUM is the most accurate velocity in both the rifles he tests and from shooting F-Class.
Shawn Carlock has a 7 WSM that also shoots 180s very well at this velocity. ( I shot it in one of his classes.)
Looks to me like Hornady is on to something with their factory ammo in this velocity window as everyone's data posted thus far has been right in there; I wonder if they're also using H4831sc. 🤔

So i've been chrono tracking the first 50 rounds on my seekins with 22" barrel. My velocity average has increased 50 fps

first 20 rounds were averaging 2746 . The last 15 rounds averaged 2789. Hoping to have factory ammo average up to 2850 over the next 100 rounds.
Once I get to 160 rounds in I'll start doing load development with ADG Brass, H1000/4831SC, Hornady 160CX and Berger 180 Hybrids

I suspect by November I'll have a 160-1x fired Hornady for anyone interested

That’s with the 180gr right? That seems awfully slow for a 22”. I was averaging 2760ish with an 18” and the 175’s for the first 20-30 rounds on the barrel. Haven’t shot any since.

Edit- granted, I also had a ton of pressure and some stiff bolt lift with ejector swipes.

Yup 180eldm
I too agree its a bit slow, but I'm only 50 rounds into the rifle and its getting faster. All the ammo is from the same lot and same factory case of ammo. I'm not even getting ejector marks, which I typically get with non overpressure loads in other calibers(using hornady brass)

Hawkins seems to have some good starting placed data on reloading and based on their data, they seem to have exceed all posted "max load" data by about 3 whole grains while using hornady brass.

If that is the case, I will expect to be sitting on @2975-3000 with 180g bullets. I have A LOT of space in my mags to load long, but I still need to measure where my lands are at to see if I'll be able to take advantage of that mag length

Just an update, shot another 15 rounds through the 7 PRC this weekend: 10 x 175 ELDX and 5 x 180 ELDM. I had signs of overpressure on 6 of the 175's and 3 of the 180s.

My 7 SAUM with 22" barrel is getting 2875 fps with 180Eldm's easily. I pushed it up over 2900fps, but accuracy was best at 2875fps.

What powder are you using to get those velocities?

Waiting on Federal to actually ship it. Looks like I won’t have it on time for the range this weekend. Was hoping to chrono everything.

Just as an update:

Savage 110 Ultralite 22” barrel

I had one 180 ELDM left, that I didn’t send Hornady, so we ran it across a magneto speed and got 2650. Shot around 5 175 eldx precision hunters across the magneto speed around 2730 SD of 19. Shot another 31 rounds with no issues and great groups.

Finally got my hands on some Federal loads and had 4 precision hunters left. Shot the 4 PH through a caldwell chrono - 2700 ish fps. Great group at 100 yards. Zero pressure signs in 40 rounds of PHCCD33528-2BD1-434D-9238-542AEDF55429.jpeg

Followed with 40 rounds of Federal 175 eldx averaging around 2900 fps. This was my last group (4) with the federal and my best. Zero pressure signs.

Measured my rifle with the case gauge and a 175 eldx - 3.3545
COAL of the 180 eldm is 3.2875
COAL of the 175 PH is 3.2905
COAL of the 175 Federal is 3.1825

I finally got a chrono to shoot my 22” Proof Sendero. Hornady 175 ELDX shooting at an average of 2850fps. I did have 2 rounds that had really extreme differences in velocity, not sure if anyone else has seen this. My first one rang up at 2820fps and then the next one shot at 2872. The rest were right around 2850 will low spread. Only about 80 rounds through the barrel so far, so not sure if it’ll speed up anymore than that.

Also noticed a stiff bolt on a few, so maybe overpressure?
