I have a Maven RS1.2 in route for mine, but I’m concerned it is too much scope for this trim little gun. I was going to get an SWFA 3-9 but drug my feet and they sold out. I see there is one in the classifieds though.

Maybe I should grab that or a Huron/Credo instead of the Maven?

@The Guide do you like the Maven on yours?

Waiting for this Stockys stock is killing me….will be a nice backcountry rifle once it’s all buttoned up…Rings and bases will add 5 oz, figuring around 23oz for stock and bedding. Puts me at 7 pounds 2-3 oz. 106 and 108s at 2700 FPS will be a sweet little killing package.

That carbon barrel is listed with 1/2-28 threads at Brownells. Is that what it actually is? Seems like it should be 5/8 on that barrel.

The larger rim diameter of the 6 ARC (compared to the .223 Remington) has caused problems with bolt weakness in AR-15 rifles. Do the bolts in a Howa Mini Action have the same problem? Or are they larger diameter than AR-15 bolts? I don't relish the idea of a bolt failing by my face and hands, or even worse, having it happening to my wife.

No it’s completely fine in a bolt action.

We slapped a 3-9x40 Huron on ours. Not really setup to reach out there a long ways (no dialing) but for a simple mid-lightish weight scope, we dig it.

I know Brownells runs sales on these Mini barreled actions every now and then but has that included the carbon barrel in the past or just usually the steel version?

When they do the holiday x% off sales it typically works in them. I looked at one during their Presidents’ Day sale and it worked in the cart.

What was the discount for that Presidents Day sale?

Anyone paying attention remember what the usual discount is when they put the barreled actions on sale?

Been planning on getting the wife a 6 ARC. Planned on the Ruger Gen 2 but with the Stockys sale a mini barreled action is pretty tempting.

I’m building a Tikka 6.5 PRC for next deer season but I had so much pleasure and excellent results with my Howa 6 ARC, it will still be my primary.

Varget and a 22” barrel is .22lr quiet with a can.

Here’s my buddy shooting my 6 ARC at 600 yards. Such a pleasure to shoot.
