Pulled the trigger in 22” BA on sale + coupon from Brownells and a Stockys VG. Both set to be delivered Tuesday. Now just need to figure out what scope. Kids are going to use it a lot, might just roll with the Huron. Not sure

I snagged a carbon forest one in stock. Have looked a bunch of times and finally saw one in stock and it pushed me to dive in.

I did the same. I had a different color pattern I ordered on back order. When I scrolled through options the other night I saw the carbon forest color pattern in stock and asked if it could be changed. They quickly did it and had it on the mail truck the next day. Should be here Monday/Tuesday

How many people have pillar and action bedded their stocky’s? I’ve read bunch saying it’s fine and doesn’t need it.

Mine is at the gunsmith currently being bedded - it was a tight fit for sure, but I want to eliminate any variables when loading for my 6 ARC.

For mine there was some lateral movement at the rear of the action. So a skim bedding seemed necessary there. As long as I had the epoxy mess started, went ahead and bedded the front lug.

I believe i forgot to update how my first attempt at bedding went. Long story short, first attempt was a fail, rifle shot pretty bad, layered up some one shot case lube as a release agent and ended up still getting jb weld stuck to action. Sanded that off, and cleaned the action up and ordered some kiwi polish online. Second time around went much better, just touched up the epoxy and added more where needed and the kiwi polish helped the action cone right out. Didn't take any pictures of bedding process but here's a 10 shot group now that it's done. Factory 108 eldm

I just put together a 6mm ARC, Howa Mini, Athlon 2-12x40ish. I've worked up a load for 75gr Speer HP's. Tomorrow I'll do the final sight in and take it out to 300 yards

I find the little ARC to be a great round actual.

Looks like some guys found success with bedding. How many are finding success without needing to bed their Howa/stockys setup?

Mine shot the same lot of ammo about 1.5-2 moa before bedding. Could be the barrel settling in but I feel the bedding helped. Definitely helped with tightening the action to the stock.

Thanks for the feedback. Trying to avoid it if possible since I haven’t done it before

Was my first time as well. Now that I've done it, i have more confidence going into next time. I'll probably do it to my aero 6.5 down the road. Jb weld wasn't bad to work with and is cheap/free. Some of the dedicated bedding epoxys/kits were expensive for a first timer.

Specific type of JB weld?

Release agent, JB weld, anything else needed?

I used regular jb weld, kiwi shoe polish, play-do, and masking tape.
Also used the all threads rods linked earlier in thread, cut smaller to line up the action screws and when I took the all thread out, it kind of brought alot of the excess epoxy with it.
