With 6 BR and 6 PPC reputations for being hard to make not shoot one would think the 6 ARC should be easily bugholin. Thats a bummer if some of the howas struggle.

Finally got the 6 ARC assembled. Installed a pic rail on the Stockys VG (may paint it in the future since it’s a little too glossy for my liking).

Tried out some factory ammo and it looks like it has some potential.

How did you install the Pic rail on the stockys? Wanted to do this with one of mine but unsure how to deal with the carbon.

It's a pretty straightforward process, took maybe 10 min tops going slow.

First - the rail I went with was the Atlas BT34 2.05" rail. Nice and small.

- You will need a T nut, (1) 10-32 x 3/4" bolt and (1) 10-32 x 1/2" bolt. You can find them at Ace, Home Depot, etc. The reason for the different length bolts is due to the factory sling stud being epoxied in place and covered (see photo)

- Remove factory sling studs.
- Install rail with shorter bolt and verify center. Mark the center of the second hole.
- Using a 1/8 bit, drill through stock (this is your pilot hole)
- Clear debris, then use a 3/4 spade bit to clear out area for the T nut (go slow with this step)
- I made a few passes, then would check for fitment. It needs to sit below the barrel channel. You can also snip the little teeth off the nut to help keep the hole slightly more shallow. Once you verify it's below the channel, see if the bolt will engage the nut with the rail in place. If not, go a little deeper and check again.
- Once to a good depth, use a bigger bit (IIRC, I used a 1/4" bit through the hole again). This gives the required clearance for the T nut and your bolt to pass.
- Bolt in place. You can add epoxy if you desire at this point to keep the T nut in place.

Nice instructional! I’ve been eyeing their pic rails too. How well did the contour match the stock?

Thanks!

As for contour, it's a little hard to get my camera to focus clearly, but it's a pretty close match. A bit deeper radius on the rail would make it about perfect, but I don't see this causing any problems at all.

Since the DNZ mounts didn't work out with the S&B turret travel they got swapped to an Outerlimits 20MOA rail and Warne Mountain Tech Low rings. The slightly higher scope center actually works better with the VG stock. Only added 1.5 ounces. Will report back on if this rail/scope setup allows full use of the S&B 3-12 4.8Mil Turrets.

Reporting back on this. Archery got in the way but antelope rifle is in two weeks so....

It worked. twisted the elevation down the Mil equivalent of 20 MOA and I was within 1" of center at 100 yards. Rezero'd the rifle and took it out to 550 and 600. Easily got the 4.7 Mil needed to hit 600 yards and had that single click left so success.

No pics but my wife (very new shooter) put 4 hits in about 6 inches at 550 yards with factory ELD-M. Time to go get some goats with this dude. The 600 yard plate was a random plate on the range so couldn't see impacts for a group size.

I jumped on my R-700 270 with the Tenmile on it after shooting the 6ARC/S&B combo. WOW. Never noticed the tighter eye box and how much tougher it is to keep on target after a shot.

I absolutely LOVE this rifle/scope combo. This will most likely become my main hunting rig moving forward.

Glad to hear it all worked out for you. Go get a couple of goats and share some pics!

Touched up with some paint and threw several coats of matte clear coat. Definitely happy with the outcome and WAY less glossy. Also ditched the crappy bikini scope cover.

Will hopefully make it out this weekend to put some more rounds down the barrel. Prepping some alpha brass tonight as well.
