I've shot a lot of critters with that 85gr Sierra. It has been really easy to get to shoot well in the 243's I've owned. I have went away from it just due to the better BC on some of the newer bullets I wanted to try, not because it ever failed. I took a lot of big bodied Midwestern does with it and a whole lot of coyotes.

Don't think that you can go wrong with a .243.
Make sure that the stock is the right length to fit her correctly.

The 80gr Ttsx really shines in the 243. Vor-Tex ammo by Barnes. With that said most guns love them or hate them.
