My current rigs are an 8 twist 243 and a 7-08.25CM fits right between 6CM and 6.5CM...
In all honesty, I would opt for a 25CM before a 6.5CM for sure. Bullet weight is right there with the 130-140 6.5mm bullets. Heavy .257s are 131, 133, 134 135, & 138gr with higher BCs that any of the moderate 6.5mms or the heavy 6mms.
The 6mms start out faster, but don't carry the minimum velocity or energy as far and the 25s pass them at distance. And the added weight of the 25s pack some more punch downrange.
Lol I just have to say it. After reading 3 pages of bro brahs whining about recoil in a 25 caliber it makes me laugh. I guess Im old school. I grew up in Wyoming shooting 338s and 300 ultras and the soy boy man bun crew crying about 25 calibers having too much recoil. Just makes me realize how far as species we have fallen. Your man cards are officially revoked. And dont even mention watching target "splash" Ive been watching 30 cal impacts for decades.![]()

Do you reload? it seems like it from your posts. Or is this factory ammo you are using?I should clarify I’m not in the short barrel/suppressed camp. I get an easy 2900fps from 26” barrels and h4350 or n555 in my couple of 25 creedmoor barrels. Some of the lapua brass from the first barrel is on firing 9-10ish.
He literally listed the powders and brass he uses.Do you reload? it seems like it from your posts. Or is this factory ammo you are using?
gotcha, thanks. as you can tell I don't reload nor do I want to. but am trying to figure out what cartridge to go with for my next rifle between 6/243/25/6.5 and the knowledge here is very good.He literally listed the powders and brass he uses.
Its a lot easier than people make it out to be. Figure out how far you want to try and kill animals and pick the one that puts the impact velocity within the bullets capabilities at that range. Appears you are on that path so good luck.gotcha, thanks. as you can tell I don't reload nor do I want to. but am trying to figure out what cartridge to go with for my next rifle between 6/243/25/6.5 and the knowledge here is very good.
