The bigger advantage for me with the 25 CM is the plethora of bullet options in the 80-110gr range

If only we had a cartridge one caliber smaller that shot almost exclusively bullets in that range

Ok, with Black Friday sales I’m going to order neck/shoulder bushings for SAC dies for my upcoming 25 builds.

25 creed using resized 1x fired Lapua 6creed brass.
25 PRC using new Lapua 6.5 PRC brass
Or
25-7PRC using new WTO headstamped ADG brass.

Anyone have real life neck diameters of loaded rounds for me to start with?

You may want to rethink your mandrel sizes. I'd reccomend 2555 or 255, will give 002 and 0025 nk tension with springback.

I would agree. I run a .255 mandrel for .002 of neck tension.

This is from a .25-06, 117-grain Sierra BTSP Federal Premium factory load. Actual muzzle velocity of ~2898 FPS. Broadside double lung shot on whitetail buck at 80 yards. Deer ran approximately 70 yards before tumbling and rolling down the ridge. Great blood trail.

Finished my season with a cow Saturday. First year with a 25 CM and really liking it. Killed a caribou, pronghorn and this elk. Exit from factory ELDM at 200 yards.

I have a friend that has one shooting 135 Berger's and it flat hammered the two big bucks he sent me videos of shooting. One was at 375 and I think the other was somewhere around 600. He's launching those 135's right around 3175-ish.

It might not the new flashy kid on the block but Im going to put an 18" fast twist barrel on my 257 Wby and load up some 134s, might try some 145 Black Holes and see how they do.

Thats awesome i hammered a few hogs with the 131s in my 25 saum earlier this week. These high bc 25 cal bullets are awesome

I’ve been debating between getting a 25-06ai barrel and a 25-284 for a tikka 270 that I don’t enjoy all that much. The 25-06 will need a longer mag or stuffing the bullet super deep to get it to feed, which is why I’ve been leaning more towards the 25-284. Does Anyone with a preferred barrel blanks prefit know what reamer they use? Could I load a 134 or 128 out long and take advantage of the long action?

My ID whitetail this year with my old Ruger 25-06. 100gn TTSX going 3255 fps. Shot him at 360 yards through both shoulders, dropped him in his tracks.

I have a pbb 25-284 barrel and another on order. They use the blackjack reamer for the 131 ace. Works great with 133 berger and 134 eldm, can load them long. My barrel is on a tikka with the LA bolt stop.

An interesting difference with the new .257 bullets and adherents, I see more of you lookiing to use larger cases and working toward high velocities. I have a 257 Roberts and shot a 25-06 barrel out of one of the first year model 700's Remington put out. I rebarreled that rifle to 270 because with bullets available at the time the 270 had more of everything. However the 25-06 was an awesome coyote, Antelope and Mule deer round.
