2026 Cold Bore Challenge Q&A Thread

--Every qualified participant who claims an MER beyond 600 yards, hits their first two shots (between 575 and 625), and completes the two additional shots at their MER beyond 600 yards will get an extra entry. Hitting the farther target is not required for the extra entry. If you miss one of your first two shots, you won't be eligible to shoot the farther MER, but you'll still get one entry like everyone else.

Was hoping to get in on this one this year but just dropped most of my guns off to get threaded. The only one I have in the safe is the one I have shot the least. I fear if I did, the results would be similar to the cold bow and a man can only disgrace himself so many times in a short period.

Does the video need to be taken through an optic from your shooting position? Or would setting up camera near the target, hitting record and then walking back to shooting positon and shooting be acceptable? Hopefully there is a PhoneSkope in the contest for me to win.

I just talked to Justin, he’s gonna have the challenge thread open at 6 AM tomorrow. But he didn’t say which 6 AM lol. As long as you shoot the same day, it doesn’t matter.

Holy smokes! Good shooting already, fellas!

I love getting to see everyone’s shooting venues.

Felt super good to get out, ended up having to shoot in 10 to 15 mile an hour winds with gusts, but I guess that’s just like hunting.

I went ahead and chose 500 yards. Just out of the 10” ring (target diameter is 12”). Sorry for the messy target! Reusing last year’s when I set my hash marks. Post #16 if you want to see my video of shame.




Sucks to miss the first shot. But still a load of fun. Can’t wait for next shot!
