Been a heck of a good week. Bird numbers are really good this year where I've been.

Got out for a couple hours today and was fortunate enough to get a good mixed bag. Sharptail, hun and a limit of pheasant on the first Sunday of season. Dogs are already in midseason form.

No birds due to my poor wingshooting skills, but Thistle considered it a success.

We got our first Ruff a week ago!

OR upland opener over the weekend. The pup did pretty good for not having many bird contacts before this. Heading out on Friday for an upland road trip through MT & ND. Hopefully get her lots of reps on that trip.

Couple of highlights so far.

Top photo is the 5 month old setters first wild birds. We’re still working through bumping vs holding points on wild birds, but figured it out nicely on a handful of woodcock so far.

Second photo of my veteran springer with his trifecta of upland birds this past weekend.
