Some of my fondest memories are hunting railroad tracks for pheasant and rabbits.

Ended up shooting my first limit of true wild roosters today. Had some of the best dog work I’ve had all season.

We found a few today. Dog that broke her leg in September was finally cleared to hunt. And went out and stuck one like she been hunting all year.

My first wild Colorado rooster took a very long time. 30 years if I am mathing correctly.

Windy, sloppy mountains,crunchy snow and jumpy late season birds. Beautiful day

Did a run up to NV and got into all kinds of birds. Great trip, with even better dog work. Shooting needed some work, but still had a lot of birds to clean today after getting home.

These public land birds are tough. I found myself under choked today or we would have limited. Pretty long range flushes and shots.

Weather is killing me. Winter storm last weekend. Another one now. Though it's currently raining and icy. I have to drive 150 miles to get into pheasants. My appetite for traveling in winter weather has significantly decreased as I age.

My hunting partner Tom, it’s actually a bad ass 2 minute sequence of my dogs working running birds over 250 yards from the initial point.
