This test hole site in the photo below is productive on rainy nights. I think they are habituated to checking it for bronze frogs. First photo is the double catch and then next 2 photos are same animals.

Night 18.





We may be getting low on targets but I heard howling last night so perhaps my day will come.


I thermal hunted a new property one of the dead nights here for my line and that property had critters moving all over for a wide span of time.

That mink is a great catch! I've been having raccoons in my bobcat traps too, one above 8k even!

It always shocks me where coons live. I’ve come to the conclusion that there aren’t very many places they don’t live.

Caught a long tail weasel last week and a short tail today. First short tail for me. Almost can’t believe how small they are.

I’d love to catch a gray. I’ve never even seen one alive. Saw one dead on the side of the road in New Mexico but that’s it. Tried to call em in southern AZ but no luck.

This guys nuts are polished from dragging on the forest floor.

I think opossum have a cool looking pelt.

I’d love to catch a gray. I’ve never even seen one alive. Saw one dead on the side of the road in New Mexico but that’s it. Tried to call em in southern AZ but no luck.

My son picked up his first cat a couple days ago. He built the cubby/set all by himself.

We have been messing around with a small line and a dozen traps, when the kids go back to school Monday it’s game on for me.

I had a good chat with the boys about optimism.

Many men would say with these odds we will never catch a coyote. Guys like Daddy think “with these odds, we will catch one tonight.”
