I think we need more information before we can give you a complete answer.

Like how big of a bore and what grain bullets? We talking 6.5 143gr eldx or 45-70 lead cast round nose 400 grainers?

What time of day? Is first thing in the morning, mid morning after a mountain house and coffee, after lunch to mid afternoon, before or after dinner?
Time of day and temperature make more of a difference than you realize.

I just carry 1ply and make it into 2ply depending on situation personally. Like to have options and versatility. But always always have some wipes on hand for stuff on the hand, if you know what I mean.
