No, it doesn't work that way and I didn't explain it as well as intended due to a poor choice of words. The problem with the way everyone, including myself, has been looking at it is that we've all tried to apply dependent or independent probability laws to all choices and it doesn't work that...
Robbie,
Your early choices do not lower the chances of drawing your later choices in a negative way unless your preference is to hunt a "poorer" unit that you list after a "top tier" unit. Even then the impact is minimal. Let's say you list a top tier unit as your first choice and the draw odds...
There was one company that made a sight with floating bottom pin. I think it was G5 and I don't know if they still make the sight. What's being discussed on this thread is multi-pin slider sights in which the entire pin housing slides and you pick one pin (usually the bottom or top) and use that...
Bro, I've had TP really bad and I can understand the click issue as it freaked me out! That said the click on the BT release bothered me when I had TP and before I learned how to really shoot back tension. I can't say it would still bother me still now that I've overcome this dreaded disease...
Im not certain I've explained this well but bow sight isn't a rifle scope and what I mean by that is with a rifle scope that's adjusted properly you can clearly see the both the target and the crosshairs and the size of the crosshairs can have a direct impact on group size. With a bowsite it's...
I use the Deep Impacts and had a ton of trouble with nocks breaking. I tried several different nocks without luck until I tried the Deep Six nock. Since then I've had no issues what so ever. As far as the outserts, I've tried both the Aero Outsert and the Black Eagle outserts. Both are a PIA but...
I'll throw my 2 cents in here having just returned from shooting the Turbo. I've never shot a speed bow and always thought the jumpiness and short valley would have no impact on me since I draw, anchor, and then trigger my release with back tension and I never have an issue collapsing once I'm...
I love the Versa Rest but wasn't a fan of the clamps, they sometimes slipped plus they clamped down on the limb and made me nervous about a limb failure although I've never heard of that happening. The tie off option looks really good and would be super easy to fix in the field with no concern...
What Jeff said but rather than draw a line on the wall I hang a plumb bob (any weight will work) off the eve of the house or a tree branch and use the string rather than the drawn line.
This doesn't work when the wind is blowing.
The SH Fast Eddie can be ordered with any pin configuration. With a 5 pin housing the Fast Eddie is 2.1 oz lighter than the Tommy Hogg with the same housing. This is per an email exchange I had with Spot Hogg 2 months ago.
I purchased and returned several this year and ended up with the SIG 2000 which was the best of the bunch for me. Here's a few things I found out about each:
Nikon Rifle Hunter 1000 - purchased a few years ago and still own. A decent rangefinder but it's slower than the rest on the list and has...
Something I discovered when researching is another item for consideration. The SIG and Leica both have an LED display that automatically adjusts the intensity/brightness to light conditions. The Leupold and Vortex both have LED displays that have to be adjusted manually to the desired brightness...
Well that sucks! Tested the Lecia 1000R on a hill and it gives the direct line of sight distance then 1 to 2 seconds later the angle compensated distance shows up. That just simply isn't going to work...
My 1000R has a EHr (equivalent horizontal range) setting I can turn on or off. Once turned on it stays on permanently unless I go back into settings and turn it off. Are you saying even with it on it won't give the angle compensated range on the first reading? If so that's a problem!
