I running it off the top. The hybrid hunter is much lighter and made for hunting. The versa is a really beefier version and to me is more of a target rest (although many guys run the versa rest). If your hunting, I suggest the hybrid. Rock solid rest. No slop and Mickey Mouse cheapness....the slop in the QAD is noticeable after having this rest!

I love the Versa Rest but wasn't a fan of the clamps, they sometimes slipped plus they clamped down on the limb and made me nervous about a limb failure although I've never heard of that happening. The tie off option looks really good and would be super easy to fix in the field with no concern for tune.

Guess I'll be the odd man out. I started out with Qad on my bow after all the bow hunters I know recommended it. I won a second bow at a 3d shoot and wanted to set it up with the Hamskea hybrid after hearing all the praise. The hamskea is a very solid rest, well built obviously. But after month of shooting both setups back to back I preferred the Qad by a large margin. I really wanted to like the hamskea better, it is a better quality rest for sure. Deciding factor for me is the containment you have with the Qad. Nock and arrow and use thumb tab to put the launcher up, and arrow stays put. Back and forth or up and down an arrow in the qad doesn't move around much. With my Hamskea set up I was shooting GT Kinetic Kaos and even with the smaller diameter shaft it took a bit of force to snap the arrow inside the cage. I realize I could have trimmed the rubber on the cage to make getting arrows through there easier but didnt want to in case I decided to shoot smaller diameter shafts down the road. Once the arrow is in the cage the arrow will flop all over the place, which was my least favorite trait. Then going limb driven you have yet more string on the bow to potentially get hung up on brush or what not. This is just my personal experience. The hamskea is a better made product but for spot and stalk hunting in thick country the qad wins for me.

What if you catch that cord that runs from the QAD to your cable? Sort of SOL if that happens. You catch your cord on something with a limb driven rest all you do is tie it back on tight, no timing issues

I like the qad as well. Never had any issues with cord. The hamskea is fine too. Use what you are comfortable with.
