If I shot fingers maybe I'd be more interested. My question is why buy a fake bow that you probably can't use a release with when you can buy a block target and practice inside with the real thing?

You can use a release with it. Even says you can tie on a Dloop to the string. I see it as a very good thing especially for those that have bad habits. Id buy one. Looks like a great way to train up muscle memory and work on Form and your shot sequence. I agree the price is a bit steep at 150$ for a training device but people will pay it especially for compition shooting. Ive also done what you said though and setup a block target but that is wear and tear on arrows and fletching when you can dry fire this thing as much as you want. I may end up grabbing one thanks for the tip.

I'm all for new training equipment but it seems if you already have a gym membership you can achieve the same with any cable row machine and a dumbell

either way there is nothing wrong with being stronger in my opinion

The year was 2009, right around this time of year. Living in a tiny apartment with my now wife. My dumb ADHD ass can't sit still and hated apartment living, so after a few beers I grabbed one of those heavy rubber exercise bands I had from rehabbing an injury and started doing reps like I was pulling a bow and holding it back. All was going great until somehow the damn thing slipped from my left hand and snapped back catching me square in the eye. I knew I was in trouble when I could see the blood slowly rising up my visual picture. That part of it was quite surreal. Luckily it was just a hyphema with no structural damage and I was good to go after a week of rest and missed work. Anyway, no experience with that nerf bow looking thing, but every time I see one I am reminded of that harrowing experience.

Contrary it seems to everyone else, I have one and rather enjoy it. Yes it is kind of a gimmick and a bit pricey, but I saw it and actually pre-ordered it as I thought it was a cool idea. You could just get a band and would be cheaper though.

But the reason I like it is that I just leave it hanging in my room and when I have a couple minutes pull it back; try to do it regularly. You can in fact hook a release to it (comes with a loop), even put a stabilizer on it if you want. It also has a little laser on it and a bubble level which just adds to pulling it back; I focus on some small object and try to maintain the hold while keeping locked on the target.
The difference with it and a regular bow is since it uses a band the poundage you're pulling is constant throughout even at full draw.

The only thing I would consider one of these for would be my daughters, to build up enough strength to even start shooting a decent bow. But once they had enough strength for the real bow, this would disappear.

I just ordered one. I bought for two reason 1) I travel for work and can not take my bow with me all the time. I figured this would be great for practicing in the hotel. I shoot my PSE Carbon Air in my basement when I am at home but when traveling I have found that the Hotel Management does not like me shooting my bow in their rooms for some reason they say its dangerous.
2) I have had both my shoulders operated on Rotator Cuff and a lot of Meniscus removal on my right shoulder and a Labral Tear and a lot of Meniscus removal on my left shoulder. I have to pull my bow back almost ever day just to stay in bow shape.

I work out almost every day. I have a workout room at my house anything I can do at a Gold's Gym I can do at my house. When I travel I will hit the Gold's Gym in Wenatchee, Smart Fitness in Lewiston or Ridge Fitness in Missoula. I feel like I am using different muscles when I pull my bow than when I use some type of cable machine or any dumbbell exercises.

I agree $150 is a lot to spend but if you shop on line you can find them cheaper. I should be getting my AccuBow this weekend once I do I can write a review for y'all if your interested.

I could see it for a rehab type situation but that's about it. For the average guy I think it would be better to just start living a more active lifestyle. Go outside, chop firewood, go to the gym, lift heavy stuff, bowhunt, shoot 3D. Then take that $150 and use it to take your wife on a few dates as a bribe so you can spend more time hunting later on.

I played with them at ATA, and think they would be a really good trainer for guys that can't shoot all the time or are in a rehab situation. I'm getting one for my dad, and my brother is getting one for when he goes on deployment and won't have a bow to shoot for 6 months.

Received an accubow last week. I'm liking it so far, with that said it's not like shooting your bow. The continuous resistance is excellent, I find it's easy to over do the weight so i'm only in the 40-50lb range right now and it's legit. I shoot 80lbs. the fact that there is no let off means your support hand is working just as hard as your draw arm which I see as another benefit over just shooting your bow. It's more dynamic I guess you could say.

The string angle is no where near where I shoot but it lines up perfectly for my 9 and 10 y/o boys. They are having a blast with it, set the timer and see who can hold the longest on target with the laser, much safer then them shooting in my shop! We all shoot the local indoor league but the reps on the accubow will help them a bunch.

The d-loop is a weak spot in the design. It moves as you tighten up the resistance etc and then you have to loosen the girth hitched loop and slide it into position, haven't tried coming up with something better yet. I have it hanging in a convenient spot on the wall just off the kitchen where it's easy for me to put up few 60 second holds during a commercial break or while the coffee is brewing. Keeps my head in September and helps push my "archery muscles" past what I get from just shooting my bow. damn, I sound like a frickin' poster boy. To the OP, I like mine
