I have the Seek Outside Cimarron and they will try to convince you go with something smaller, but I agree with the other posts to upsize. I added on an additional 1.5 feet to their recommend size (6 feet I think) and am glad I did.
I have done Mtn Tough for a year and love it. I am a former CrossFit guy and know the importance of good form on lifts. In CrossFit I just could not stay healthy and was always tweaking something. Mtn Tough is similar intensity with more of an emphasis on muscular endurance rather than max...
I’m not sold that it was entirely wind that led to the misses, but certainly could be a factor. Shooting at that range without a spotter that knows what they are doing to give corrections or identify where the rounds impacted is tough. You have no way to say where the rounds landed and to draw...
It is an interesting listen for sure. The message I get, whether correct or not, is that there is not much that reliably helps you make gains other than consistent hard work, creatine, and protein if you are deficient. I have tried all sorts of supplements over the years with variable...
I love it and it allows me to do a program that not only helps prepare me for the mountains, but also works to minimize injury risk. I did CrossFit years ago and even with attention to form on all movements would get injured with some frequency. Over the past year, my lower body and core...
I like to layer with merino baselayer, puffy, and then on top of that some sort of windproof layer. I run Sitka so I am not sure about the equivalent in Kuiu, but the Jetstream is what I use for an outer layer. IMO a windproof layer of some sort is essential.

I upgraded this past year on both scope and binos, but if I had to pick one with your setup it would for sure be binos. You said it yourself, there was a huge difference in picking up animals with borrowing high end optics.
I’ve taken a questionable shot on an animal I never recovered. It made me sick. Use it as an opportunity to improve both shooting as well as decision making, which frankly all hunters should be doing on a continuous basis. The two things that made me feel a bit better were 1. My decision to eat...
I do not hunt big game with my Brittany, but did have an amazing Beagle who tracked down a deer I shot in about 30 seconds after I spent an hour trying to blood trail.
I was excited about the outfitter and shot 300 rounds with it in my .308 while practicing and installing a new scope. I kept getting inconsistent and large groups that were really making me question the accuracy of my rifle and my own ability (despite having shot thousands of rounds and...
I reassure my family by having a solid built-in safety plan (which it looks like you have) and keeping in contact while I am on my hunt. You could ask what else you could do to reasonably and realistically make them more comfortable. If they say things like: you should be going with a hunting...
I have a stand mixer and use the grinder attachment and sausage maker add on. It is a worthwhile investment regardless of how you do it though. You are pissing money away by paying a butcher just to grind your meat, and I was never convinced I was getting the actual deer I killed back to me...
