Your knife sharping system?

Can you post up a pic or link the the belt sharpener you have? I looked and there is 4 different models that I can see.
I have two delta sa180 sanders that are now discontinued. I run belts on one and a leather strop belt on the other.
This would do the same.

I start with a 500 grit belt, then move to 800, then 1200, then strop. Practice on kitchen knives and you will be shocked how easy it is to become proficient and fast.

The KME sharpening system is awesome and their stones have very consistent grit and produce a consistent very sharp edge.

This year I upgraded to a White River Knives Hunter in Magnacut. Have been very impressed with this knife/steel. I skinned and deboned a large mule deer buck and the knife was still shaving sharp after. I just hit it with a leather strop when I got home and it was ready to go. The next week skinned and quartered an antelope and same thing.... still shaving sharp and just stropped it. As a result I don't feel the need to carry a sharpener in the field as I know I can get all the way thru processing an animal without one.

I use a KME system as well. Quite a learning curve and not very a blink once and you're done kind of deal but with the strop kit and accompanying compounds from Stropman for the KME system, one can produce an edge that is impressive. The key to sharpening is angle consistency and patience to get steel to a mirror finish, which is just a full display of my ADD and not truly necessary for a field knife.
