Your hunt setup

Dang I’m in a rough patch…thankfully I have multiple risers and limbs.

I broke my replacement Bucktrails riser yesterday in the same spot as before And I broke my Stalker riser…a surface piece.

So it looks like I am down to my tried and true Dryad riser and the couple metal risers.
How’d you break a stalker!!!???

Its the carbon surface piece on the back side of the riser….it just popped off while I was shooting it. I’m not worried South will fix it, they have an excellent guarantee. I don’t want to post pics disparaging it.

The Bucktrails…Meh,I’m done with those- Alt services was great on the replacement, The second one cracked in the same spotalong that outer white line.
I’m only shooting 52#…The second one has another flaw in a glue joint in another location too. Firewood.

Bummer as I liked the weight and grip of that riser. Both times I felt it crack under my fingers at full draw. I was thinking about keeping it, cutting it down to that glue line (the white stripe) and dadoing a channel in the riser for a g10 i beam then fashioning a cover piece.

The problem with that is the ibeam would be short of the limb bolts and not as effective- not worth the hassle for a $130 riser.

You’re gunna love it! What specs did you get?

Looking ahead for the future if I ever get hurt I’ll have a few in the stable. Also the fact that it has a higher performance than reg limbs I dropped down to 48@28 from 54-56 lbs bows. I got another 60 incher seems to be my sweet spot for all around in blinds, tree stands, and being able to draw smoothly. Sure I could’ve gotten a 64 inch 55lber but 48 is enough for anything in NA.

Can’t go wrong with the stalker

I’m fact I couldn’t stand it so ordered a new stalker with the ACS limbs. I’m excited to try them out.

I’m starting to really get along with my Stalker Jackal. Already thinking about another set of limbs for it. I wonder if South could do a set with the old school camo?

Yes he can. All you do in the lay up is use the cloth instead of a decorative veneer. Tall times does a bunch like that.

That's a bummer, they sure are pretty.

I have a Poison Dart coming in the next 2 weeks or so. Looking forward to it.

Right now I'm probably shooting a Satori w/ Uukha gobi's. 19" riser w/ long limbs for a 64" bow. Easton 6.5s, 50gr Brass, and 150gr Cutthroat 3 blades. I haven't done much hunting with the recurve but hope to this year. The poison dart may get hunted with too and I may also try one of the RMS gear risers that Tom is coming out with when they are available.

I thought switching to traditional archery was going to make things simpler...
Teaser of the risers from stalker today.

Got to shoot Tom’s in Denver last week. Will definitely grab one when available!

Interesting, he is using a big block of phenolic with wood side panels now
Sounds like the intent is to make them slightly more standardized than the full customs and keep costs down a bit. Not sure if it's phenolic or G10 but they were fairly heavy (similar to my 19" satori). Think they'll be available with walnut or bocote as the 2 options? They have the RMS logo engraved on the other side which is kinda cool too.

The old I-beam riser. I saw those too. A lot of custom companies are starting to build those styles. I can see why there’s less flex and it’s fairly similar le to lay up. Simple two glue lines. Looks good

60” Toelke chinook, axis 400 with 200 up front for a total of 500gn. If I do my part it shoots pretty sweet!

I have too many bows I want to take. I think I'm going to go with the Elkheart this year. Some dark tmbers with some Eskimos.

When I started this I said I wasn't going to dink around....Ha

Most of my delay was due to broken limbs and risers.....but for the last month or so I have settled on "The One"

Pictured below; 19" Dryad riser with modded grip [to match the 2 broken riser grips that I really liked] Long Uukha Selenghas which are 51#-52# at my DL, 31 3/8" Accmos 340s with 125g 2 blades, 435g TAW
Dead silent on the shot....smooth with almost no stack.

This is about my avg group- not great but all kills- one arrow each from 15-35y [ its essentially marked yardage as its in my backyard] I can actually keep the groups a little tighter at my PO which is 42y with this bow.

Dryad with Selenghas

My backup will be a Junxing F261 19" riser, Nika long limbs at 54#- same arrow. That bow has a little more weight on the fingers at FD.
