Yet another 6 arc bolt build (for newbie)

Welcome to owning a Howa Mini. I have a 6.5 Grendel in. Mini with similar issues feeding. So I am looking to build a Tikka in the same caliber. Also have a ruger ranch in 6.5G. Solved the feeding issues with a Bravo chassis and AICs mags. As you have mentioned. The bolt on a ruger is terrible IMO. Just to sloppy. Too heavy to carry hunting unless you are box blind hunting.

Odds are I’ll build a custom Grendel on a Tikka action.

So what's the plan? Fix it and run it or ditch it and go a different route? Ive never once regretted any of the 3 zermatts I own because theyre so modular. The 6arc is a great choice for that next step "up" from a .223 and will likely be what I get my son next. Just dont know that it'll be on an aftermarket action but its a great excuse to pick up another one.

I’m not sure. I mean even as a “cheap” option it’s still like $2k with this chassis! Sunk cost feeling is real. The jamming was driving me nuts at the range though and would worry about that in the field. I wonder if there’s some hack to make it less frequent?

Oh I thought you went with a Howa mini. I’ve not experienced the feeding issues with a zermatt

I've had three Howa mini's in .223, 7.62x39, and 6.5 Grendel. Zero feeding issues with the factory mag set up, a JO blind mag, and an Oregunsmithing hinged bottom metal, using the factory plastic stock or a Bell & Carlson stock. Mine were 22" sporter and two 20" heavy barrel.

Is that a factory barrel or a prefit? Did you buy a rifle and take it apart or a barreled action? I'm going to say that something related to the chassis and the mag fit is what's causing your jamming issue.
