I recommend you do more research...you're wrong.

109th congress sf 339 reaffirming states rights to discriminate against nr.

Result of the taulman/uso lawsuit suing under dormant commerce clause that you referenced. That ship has sailed.

Suing a state for discriminating against nr hunting or allocations is going nowhere.
Not those topics, it would be fraud Or something along those lines. Class action, ambitious attorney, might be worth a shot.

I will never understand why outfitters are protected so much. And why states cater to them to protect their businesses.
I don't either. Why on earth people would elect politicians that would do that is beyond me.

I mean, I'd vote to go 100/0 before I'd go for 90/10 with half of the 10% going to a privileged class.

I'm also really glad we don't have points.

So much for the United part in United States of America.
It ain't 1970 anymore, Dorothy. You think states like Idaho want anything to do with states like California or New York in today's climate? Nope. Stay home. We can fund our own wildlife and conservation efforts. There's plenty of $$$ in this state. Just look at the tags on the F250s and toy haulers parked at trail heads in September.

Yes, I'll abandon my business I've built, and my parents that need help, and I'm sure my wife won't mind saying goodbye to the great job she has for better big game hunting. I can't believe it never occurred to me, it's so simple!
None of those piss-poor excuses suggest you should have a right to hunt in Idaho as a non-resident and take away opportunity from residents. Just FYI.

SOME residents value... Plenty who don't.

Great point. That is a fantastic illustration of why people who give up a lot to live in a place like wyoming deserve preference.

Good old George Taulman trying to get back at AZ after we gave him the boot! Lost his A** :)

FWIW this is where I believe the first 90/10 originated (AZ) and why Taulman sued. His clients tags were definitely going to get cut.

Taulman also lost some of the guided pool percentage guarantees after NM residents sued the state and clawed back some tags.

I have yet to hunt on anything but federal land in Idaho, fairly certain my Idaho taxes are not paying for that. But that doesn’t matter, what is more concerning is you think you somehow own this state and have the right to keep others out. I cannot stand the politics of CA or NY but there are folks who feel the same way fleeing those states and you give them the middle finger. I only saw one out of state tag this year hunting, they were from Oregon and I shared a beer with them. Turns out they own a ton of land in Oregon but no longer hunt it as the wolves have cleaned out the game. They complained about the Democrats who are fing their state up. These are the folks you give the middle finger to.

You say that until another million Californians move into your state and then you’re just “northeast Californian”.

Same gem involved with the outfitter trying to run elk shape off public land last year?

If you WY folks keep this up you might just get what you want and have more people moving there and hunting on the same uncapped OTC tags every year.

You bet, beating the chest about the NR free “Promise Land” of hunting opportunity could bite em in the buttocks one day in the not to distant future as conservatives leave liberal states in droves.

Yes, I've posted many times about USO/Taulman and their antics. They've been at that crap for over 30 years. I and everyone I know that has hunted NM has had run in's with them. He was also fairly active in AZ for awhile pulling the same pranks. The 90/10 and bad blood I think ran him back to NM and I believe he just quit here.

You miss the part where you get the 10% to pay for the 90%. Can’t get rid of your cash cow…

I never said people from those states are not welcome to move here and establish residency. All fine with me, come on in. My issue is with the people from the other 49 that assume they have a right to hunt here.

And the feds? HAHAHA.... look at the money they pour into "fighting" wildfires....the west burns every year, without fail and without suppression. Take all that money and do something useful. Convince me the federal dollars spent on federal lands is worth a damn. The state could do better by employing privatized management with 25% of the budget. Show me a federal agency that isn't overly bloated and wasteful with taxpayer money. USDA? CDC? USFS? BLM? Not holding my breath.

Hopefully I burn my deer points this year. Then I just have speed goat points to burn and I’ll be in a low point not much invested position.

I think we're good for now. Just google Idaho politics and sort by new.....I won't mention the issue, but Idaho isn't going to let Texas one-up them on conservative policy any time soon haha.

Good luck finding a place to live! I live near Sheridan & nothing for sale. People buying sight unseen all the time. Locally, most coming from west coast states, but some from everywhere.
