Ok. What’s your thought now that you see the new prices.I dont apply for everything. Just know that inflation sucks.
How many states you apply to every year?
I apply to a few.

I brought back pictures only - I will use taxidermy, shipping, etc. funds to fund another trip.
This is a non-ending conversation. The pp fee is just another way of putting off raising the cost of the actual tag. That will probably happen within the next 2 years. People (some) will not pay the pp fee and the loss of revenue will hit home and then will come the cost of increased tags, again. Not only that, but the number of non residents staying in some of these smaller towns will be missed and the hunting season profits will drop a little. This is just one big vicious circle.
That would make it one step closer to "The Kings Game." And everyone who enjoys hunting should be afraid of that....including yourself. IMOThis is a perfect response. I too have no issue paying $4/ dozen eggs considering what I’ll pay for a bottle of whiskey. Same with gas as I wish it would increase to $5/gallon so they’d fix some roads. Heck, I pay $80k for a truck so what’s $100 per tank? Ammo could also be around $150/box as I really only need a couple shells per hunt.
I wish points would just go straight to bidding like an auction. That way I could just bid $700-1000 a year, win the points need, and go hunting that same year. Enough with buying points every year just to hunt 7-10 years later. Just let me pay it all upfront, so I can hunt!
Do you actually believe that?the number of non residents staying in some of these smaller towns will be missed and the hunting season profits will drop a little

I guess there isn't many options when you only consider revenue. You mention "revenue" three times, and "increase" twice. For those wondering why the increase in PP fees, FY 2025 saw the Dept with a 5 million shortfall. FY 2026 isn't over and because of the fluid nature of their revenue streams, they have no way of knowing what the final tally will be. FY 2027 was budgeted at 98% of expected revenue and the Commission thought that was too tight and asked the Fiscal Dept how to generate revenue to increase that FY 2027 cushion.
In WY, the Commission is severely limited in what they can increase, one of those options is NR preference points, and Reduced Price licenses; they don't have authority to increase Full Price licenses. They can also establish new stamps and permits, but only up to a statute max of $15.
So, not much for options.
