I struggle with this often, my eldest daughter is 24 and married for the last 1.5 years, her husband's list would be;
1) video game
2) stupid looking clothes
3) really big computer phone that is in his face 24-7
4) coffee table book called "no one is smarter than me"
5) and unfortunately my daughters heart! :(

LOL That's just another thing that bugs, he would rather hug!! I could deal with a handshake and a shoulder bump but not so much a full out hug, kind of makes me shutter! His best quality is that politically he is not a liberal.

1. A well fitting suit. Being "roundish" there is no such thing as a well fitting suit.
2. A coffee table book. I have several that cover Labs, ducks, outdoors photography, etc
3. A bottle opener.I have several church keys scattered around as well as Bic lighters. Wait, did you mean corkscrew? I think he means corkscrew. I let the women store a couple in the kitchen junk drawer.
4. A set of head phones.Several as I need hearing protection often. Wait, did you mean for music? I do have a set of ear muffs that have a radio and 3.5mm jack for plugging in an MP3 or phone.

Most of my close friends are in the 28-32 range, go 5 years younger than that and it's a completely different mindset. It's almost scary to see the way a lot of 16-25 year olds think.

I can understand a suit.......I own enough of them, but where have all the men gone in our society today. Makes me sick watching all the pansies running our country. Watching everyone cave to political correctness. By the way.......anybody got an extra Confederate flag laying around that they don't want anymore. I'm Colorado born and raised, but I'll fly the Confederate flag in my yard even if the state houses now refuse to. And I'll fly it right next to that hate-mongering flag called "Old Glory".
Amen on all accounts brother.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. The older generation will always think the younger generations aren't man enough, wussies, etc. I'm 35 and think skinny jeans, facebook/twitter and low-carb diets are a bunch of BS. I'm sure my son will think the same thing about those younger folks when he's my age too.

What is interesting about that is no one is talking about the victims nor the deranged kid- only a flag. The left loves it for it's a way to get rid of the flag and earn brownie points for the left base and the right loves it because we are not talking about gun control. Let's blame the flag !! Thats's it, blame the freagin flag !!!!! That is meat for all !!

If you look at it though each generation does become less manly as a whole. It is just what technology does to us. Each generation can replace something with technology. Your son (or his son) may be the last generation to have the option of driving a 6 speed sports car before everything is self driving. Then it will be comments on how men in his day could drive a stick. Its unavoidable.

I will agree with most everyone in this thread. My oldest turned 8 in April and wanted to start Cub Scouts. So I took him and tried to be involved?? I am just stunned at the lack of discipline, respect, and overall wimps that political correctness is creating! He wanted to carry his pocket knife in his pocket to Scouts. I din't want him to get in trouble so I asked the Pack leader, some old grey haired bitty, and she said they don't allow it, only on camp-outs??? I almost took him out right then.. Then I watched her go through the lowering of the flag and folding it, I almost fell over, she could have cared less and wasn't teaching them anything proper. So instead of getting high blood pressure, I am getting involved to maybe try and save a few of these kids from being feminists???
End of Rant.

Technology has really changed the way kids are raised these days. Trying to find kids that want to do hands on and dirty work is hard to come by. God forbid they get their hands dirty.

Just finding manuals is tough enough right now. I hate automatics, I even have a 6-speed in my F-350 PSD. I was selling my dad's truck recently and over half the people that looked at it were like "Oh, it's a manual" and suddenly weren't interested. I'm teaching my 16yo daughter to drive. She's learning on manuals. Although as you said.......they'll be completely gone in a few years.

Yeah, it's too bad. I got a new rig a few years ago (Tacoma Double cab) and unfortunately didn't have a manual option. To me, a manual feels more like driving...

I do like my Taco though.
