Would you buy this scope?

Some have come close, in a roundabout kind of way ... not that I'd know. 🥷
It’d be funny that after everyone was joking about adding a gold ring and such like leupold it actually ended up being leupold they’re working with. Highly doubt it but would be pretty funny. I’d imagine it’d be Trijicon or Nightforce. They both have pretty decent customer service and the most open to feedback from customers.

This made me snicker. You should go read the NX6 thread. A lot of grief over Nightforce not listening to feedback on their reticles, at least for hunting. All either of these two companies would need to do is put a different reticle in a scope they already make and there wouldn't be a need for this project. So I'm guessing it's not either of them.

I think Leupold would be pretty capable of making a highly reliable 2-8x scope combined w/ almost any reticle, IF they wanted to; maybe they do now :D

The lefty 223 thing is not really a good example to support a need for “commitment” to keep people from backing out. You failed to mention (and maybe didn’t know) that the price of the rifle increased significantly after a lot of people signed up. The sign up link initially had those rifles listed at $749. I didn’t get on the list at that point as it was still up in the air if they would be blued or stainless. When it was confirmed they would be stainless steel, the price in the link went up to $879. I signed up even though I could have bought a right hand SS 223 or a lefty SS in another cartridge for $750 or less from another source. Then, a couple months later, the company announced that they would be $1,029, but anyone who had already committed under the lower price could email to cancel. Since they didn’t offer to honor the price I had signed up for, I canceled. I was informed that by the time the 223s actually became available, they were $1,079 (but that included “free” shipping 😀).

I am hopeful that the RokScope will be the ultimate hunting scope, but since the full specs aren’t even known yet, I would not consider putting a deposit down on one at this time.
So you pre-paid via putting a deposit down creating a legal contract, then when your Bronco Raptor finally arrived, the demand was such that due to lower allocation/availability, you essentially sold it to the dealer for way more then the dealer original sales contract you signed ?

There are a magnitude of companies pre-selling inventory out. I’m not sure why there is an issue. I don’t see either user name calling outdoor vitals or Kuiu frauds as they built multi million dollars companies pre selling container inventory as a business model.

Ha ha, did they get a new CEO? Every time I heard him speak he only spoke about satisfying the shareholders.

2-8x36 sounds great. Let’s not forget a 2-12x42 would be awesome!!
A FFP reticle that can be used on any magnification, durable and reliable. An eventual herd of (hopefully) satisfying everyone, for example:
2-8x36mm
2.5-12x42mm (or 44mm)
3-15x50mm
4-20x56mm
I threw the last two in there because of all the photos, and what I've seen in FFP reticles, at the low end of magnification; that is why I'm still stuck on SFP scopes.

And an option built into the design to purchase swapped out lockable turrets for both elevation and windage. Don't hate me on this one, I am saying an option and at an extra cost.

Why? I have trouble remembering where I set the darn screwdriver down in the workshop or finding it when it decides to jump off the workbench; don't get me started on where that blasted turret scope cap goes when making an adjustment at the rifle range!

No one had to pre-pay to get on the 223 list. It is just that a couple of people have suggested that those who “backed out” of the 223 pre-order suck and I am saying that I, and probably others, didn’t back out of the deal we signed up for. It went something like this:

“Do you want a widget for $X if we order it?”

“Yes.”

Two months later,

“You can still get the widget but it is going to be $X plus $Y.”

“No thank you.”

So, although those of us who didn’t end up with a lefty 223 still might suck, it is for a reason other than “backing out” of the pre-order for some of us. 😀

That was my point, pre-paying goes both ways, protects buyer and seller. The 223 was a unique supplier price increase across all tikka distributors

Reticle is meh, turrets are giant.

The only thing I can come up with on the tall turrets is they must be specifically designed to pass the drop test. I imagine they're like the front bumper of a snowmobile...designed to crush and not damage the expensive parts. 🥴
