Would you buy this scope?

I do stuff like this for a living so it was only natural to look. Maybe I’m wrong. Maybe I’m not.
LOW builds the Torics.... Same as LOW will build this scope. Many companies use existing products to prototype. The internals will be better than Tract, I'm sure that's a guarantee.

It doesn't really matter whose name it's under, it's going to be tested properly...

I disagree especially when it comes to customer set and/or warranty issues. I'm assuming that will be handled by the other company and not S2H. I think it will be a great option no matter whose name it's under but I do think it matters.

To a degree, it will matter. I do think, however, that form putting his name behind an optic and the degree to which this optic will be scrutinized and tested will incentivize the MFG to have tighter QC.

On the warranty side, I believe a major intention with the scope is to be built as if it won’t need to be serviced by warranty claims. The security of the maven warranty is nice, but I don’t think about my nightforce or Trijicon warranties because they rarely fail. In the event that they do though, they stand their behind their optics. I’d imagine whoever *truly* is making this optic will as well. Hopefully.

I honestly hope it's Vortex so I can make all of my WI family and friends happy that I finally have some Vortex glass on a rifle again

I have wondered why does an optics brand need to be involved at all? Why can’t S2H/UM spec the scope directly to LOW?
Is it because they don’t have the manpower to handle warranty claims, is that the sole reason?
Is it for sales, that a pure S2H scope won’t sell as well as a brand name scope?
Is it anything to do with assembling the scope? Meaning LOW builds the parts to spec and an optics company assembles them?
I don’t really care, I think it’s going to be a great scope, but I have just been curious what the 3 headed dynamic is.

It's a relationship thing, explained earlier in this thread (as well as several other places). Also discussed on a couple of S2H podcast episodes.

You cannot just go to LOW with a pile of cash and say build a scope. It a hard and long process to even get to the point that they will talk with you.
