It’s official. I have a heel injury. I tried ignoring it away and that didn’t work. No run/hike/treadmill for a week and I’ll reassess. I’m going to focus on lifting, mobility, balance, circuits, etc.

25 sets for time
Squat w/ 12lb med ball x 10
Push Up x 15
Leg Raises x 10
Did a final set of 25 Push Ups to bring my total to an even 400

Took a break then did 101 more Push Ups, prison style, didn’t break position

2 sets of Farmer’s Carry w/ 60s for 1:40 each set

^ plantar fasciitis possibly?

my first go round with it (pf) I thought I had a fracture in my heel; I had to limp it was so bad

the second time I realized it was pf and did the stretching and rolling that’s prescribed and it was shorter lived and not nearly as painful

Didn’t go to Dr, but I’m limping good, especially first thing in the morning. Been ice, heat, rolling it. My wife looked it up and thought that’s what it was, but there is a test where someone extends your foot and applies pressure. That doesn’t hurt, so it may just simply be my heel pad is sore/bruised.

Well I attempted a quick overnight with my dog to scout for my Sept. elk hunt. Hit the worst blowdown I’ve ever seen, took 2 hours to get 1/2 mile. My dog had an helluva time, jumping over all the deadfall. I was hesitant to take her, she’ll be 10 in December and I felt really guilty when she started lagging behind even though she was wagging that tail the whole time. Eventually I turned around and scratched that trailhead off my list. Will head back soon to check the next trailhead. Grabbed a pic right before we got into the nasty stuff IMG_3143.jpeg

20min stretch/mobility/warm up
5 sets
Ass 2 Floor Squats/Calf Raises- 45/95/135/185/205
Pull Up- x 10
1 arm Front Barbell Dead- 45/95/135/135/135 x 5ea
TRX Knees 2 Chest- x 15

30 Pull Ups
30 Skidder Tire Flips
21 Pull Ups

I have been feeling really good and had planned a VO2 Max test, but I need to delay that. I am using the heated rice pad on the heel and it feels much better than Friday. I am hoping I just pounded it too much and it is not plantar fasciitis. I even watched a Bro on YouTube shoot BPC157 into his heel??

@Rusty Shackelford definitely be careful with your dog and blowdown; my buddy Tom and I did a trip where he brought his dog—tore off through some blowdown seeing a squirrel. She got cut really deep on her belly—luckily I had some stuff in my first aid kit that we got the bleeding stemmed. Tom ended up hiking out 19 miles, carrying his dog for half that. Got her into an emergency vet hospital and stitched up. When Tom told the doc how far we were in, he said it was miraculous she's alive.

Certainly good advice Warden, her wellbeing was the main reason I decided to turn around yesterday but I wish I had decided that sooner. Guess I kept thinking we'd be out of the mess soon. She didn't get hurt thankfully, but I was carrying her over some of the more dangerous logs. I won't be doing that again with a dog, and to be honest I'm not too excited to go through that stuff again myself.
