It’s going to be 6.5 creedmoor using the peak alloy cases. So essentially what some these niche companies are doing but from federal.
I would guess 308 is also coming.
Lots of things coming in new barrel tech and cases. If this holds, there won’t be a need for a 6.5 PRC. But just speculation of course.

I mean I get what it does, for a very small amount of people who need that extra range. But you’re correct.*whispers*
There never was a need for it.

Are you speculating or do you have inside knowledge? It’s going to be 6.5 creedmoor using the peak alloy cases. So essentially what some these niche companies are doing but from federal.

Because most people don't want a 6mm. The 6.5 probably should have been the first one they did. I doubt they stop with the 6.5 though. Just a matter of if they go smaller or bigger on the third one.
It will definitely be different. Good thing I have a short action standard bolt face I have to build onI predict they will move the shoulder forward just far enough that the ammo won't chamber in a 6.5 CM chamber. They probably don't want them loaded in AR10's.
So close, but why not go down a full millimeter. 6mm Backcountry 116 TMK @ 3250fps!
How does one optimize a cartridge for one bullet?I was about to start a new thread on this. I was at the Houston NRA show and saw the marketing the launch for June 5th.
I asked if they were launching a new bullet or a new cartridge and they have no hints or answers.
I could see it being a 6.5 Backcountry optimized for their 6.5 140gr Terminal ascent bullet
We shall see…I predict they will move the shoulder forward just far enough that the ammo won't chamber in a 6.5 CM chamber. They probably don't want them loaded in AR10's.
