Well it's warming up; our high today -10, better than the last couple of days but still not excited about hiking in it- maybe tomorrow

4 miles (~1500') on the dreadmill

might be common knowledge, but this calculator lets you estimate elevation gained by entering in the % grade and distance

My brother sent me this yesterday morning. Too damn cold for this fair weather kid!

Not horribly cold here, it's mid 20's. But we have some ice accumulation on the roads so it's slick. I got in 3 miles on the treadmill, one jogging slowly at 5 mph and two walking at 3.5 on a 6 degree incline. Still stretching a lot and my back is about well I think. Just not gonna rush it!! Since I haven't been working out quite as hard, I've cut back on my calories by about 300 per day. So far so good.

3 miles yesterday

Took a few days off to chase ducks that showed up for the first time in numbers this year. Everything now locked up and that game is over....10 degrees with 6 inches and counting of snow will shut things down for a few days below the Mason/Dixon. Hopefully the gym will find a way to open but doubtful.

Well I thought today I'd be able to hit the trails- umm no!

4 miles (1500') on the dreadedmill; Tiny Elvis is going bonkers- going to have to go tomorrow no matter what

strength trained after

deadlifts 5/3/1+/amrap

Pro Tip do your strength training first, then your aerobic workout! :D

Still a little icy here...so 2 miles on the treadmill. One jogging at 5 mph then one walking briskly at 4. A little bodyweight excercise, and 2 very light sets of BB squats. Then of course more stretching. Back is feeling about normal again, just being cautious for a week or two longer.

My workout yesterday was cutting up and piling downed trees and limbs on my property, as well as hauling more firewood up to the house. We don't have the super cold temps that some of you guys have, but we had a heck of a freezing rain/ice storm this last weekend and it's a mess. Temps in the 20's, the gym in town is closed because of no power, we don't have power at home, and it will probably be that way for at least a week. Glad we have a wood stove and a generator!
