Just finished up a two day, approx. 23 mile, training hike with my son. We bagged 7 peaks, with the highest being 5,300’. We started at 1,700’ and finished at 1,900’. The only game we saw were, many marmots, two nice bull moose, and a little black bear. We had a little dusting of snow over the one night that we camped at 5,200’. All and all it was a great little hike and some nice father son time. Here’s a few pictures from the last couple days.

Is that revolver one of those ones that came in a bear protection kit with a pelican case and a book about ear attacks or did you find an orange grip elsewhere and put it on yourself?

No, I bought the grips after market, the stock grips are black. I think they’re pretty god awful, but I wanted something with as high of visibility as possible. If they made glow in the dark, I probably would have bought them instead.

Nice I like the orange grips. I’m all about hi visibility for knives and guns like that.
 
a nice backpacking trip in the Crazies this weekend w/ my wife and Tiny E- some good elevation training :)

100' Overhead Walking lunge, 45 lb bumper plate

strength training squats 5/5/5+, bench 5/5/5+, pullups 3x10, dips 3x25, core

I'm going to have to figure out something about squats- on my outer, upper thigh I'm getting severe pain squatting- looking it up it appears it's "TFL" a long scientific name for a small muscle that evidently can cause grief squatting and grief it is!
 
5.5 miles on the trails with 8 strides thrown in towards the tail end- stride = 1 minute at normal pace, 30 seconds at a quickened pace (not a sprint, just a smooth acceleration/deceleration)

was going to run, but a peek at the thermometer showed 93, sooooo... headed to the gym

deadlifts 5/5/5+, overhead press 5/5/5+, chinups 3x11, weighted lunges 3x 50 yards, core
 
we're heading on vacation today up to the northwest corner of the state (have a cabin rented) so no work this morning and took advantage of cool morning temps (upper 50's) and got in a nice 5 mile run on the trails.

6 clean and jerk (must touch and go at least 3 in a row on all sets)
8 toes 2 bar

Min 2 6 cals
