Will Tikka come out with a 6 CM soon???

Given Tikka barrels are cold hammer forged, different twist rates require new mandrels.

If they also hammer forge the chamber, than new chamberings also require entirely new mandrels.

So, I'm willing to bet tooling costs make it more expensive for Tikka to make changes than it is for many manufacturers. They already don't appear to be keeping up with demand, so I cannot blame them for being slow to invest in changes.

But they already have a .243” 1:8 twist barrels?

At this point wait for shot show but an 8 twist 243 can do everything a 6CM can do and more if you handload. If you don’t handload then you are semi-SOL.

I remember Shot Show footage from last year with the Tikka rep confirming 6 Creed is coming soon... if it hasn't happened yet I'd say it ain't happenin.
Especially considering they launched 7PRC like immediately (when they still offer 7 Rem Mag), but won't produce 6 Creed to update .243... so disappointing.

Saami approval 2017, CIP approval 2022.

Interesting the 6XC is CIP approved in 2004, and has never been saami approved.
Lets hope I'm wrong, but I am not confident. The large caliber bias just seems pervasive across the industry. 6 Creed is obviously an afterthought for Tikka or it would already be available.

If their ownership feels like they are losing market share because of a lack of a certain chambering then they would certainly do it. Protest by purchasing another brand.

They produce Tikka’s in 350 legend but not 6CM . It doesn’t make sense.

It makes perfect sense. They need an option to sell to hunters who have to use straight wall cartridges. That’s a significant enough part of the market to cater to it.

The 6CM is only “needed” by people who insist on using longer, heavier bullets in a world where a .243 with a 95-grain NBT or similar bullet will handle anything in NA out to 500 yards. I’ve got nothing against the 6CM and I probably would own one if I didn’t already have a .243, but it’s not needed.

With that said, I hope you get what you want before the heat death of the universe.

Most of these companies operate as economic creatures. If they believe the numbers will justify coming out in "x" cartridge, then they will. I may be wrong, but I doubt that they track Rokslide to gauge new cartridge releases, let alone barrel length and twist.
