Anybody been shooting airguns for positional practice? I know it was brought up in the S2H podcast recently, but I've always had a good time shooting at the house to keep the ground squirrels at bay. But also to practice positional shooting as much as I can without having to head for the mountains, especially in fire season when we're not allowed to be shooting steel out there.

I've got an FX Royale 500 .25 cal pellet rifle that is stupidly accurate. Recently built the profile into my binos and I've been able to stretch it out to 100 yards fairly easily, depending on the wind anyhow! The biggest difference obviously is not dealing with any amount of recoil. But without the recoil movement it does really force you to be honest about your trigger pull and can expose some faults in your setup.

The up front cost was fairly steep on this setup, but its hard to argue with the $.10/rd cost to shoot it!

Anybody else doing something similar to stay fresh in the off-season? Let's see some cool rifles and shooting setups!
